A simple question about Headlight buckets

Am working on the headlight buckets for 2 1971 240z I have, getting them ready for re-plating. I have the buckets completely disassembled except for the white-plastic block that headlight adjustment screw screws into. Question I have, is how are those installed and how do you remove them so they are not damage by re-plating process.
