Ok I disconnected my engine mounts to lift the motor to replace the oil pan gasket. now the job is done and i can't get the mounts to align, the engine is sitting about a half inch back from where its supposed to be.

If you have a hoist you should be able to lift the engine slightly and pull it forward. How did you lift the motor in the first place?
