do I need to drop the exhaust & gas tank to access any hidden bolts? I already undid the three fancy nuts per side inside the trunk compartment. Any tips from those who have gone here before? Much obliged.:stupid:

You have to drop the tank and at least twist the muffler out of the way. There isn't any real "hidden" bolts. but you won't be able to move those huge shocks out of the hole and from underneath. There isn't enough room. The shocks have some undercoat and sealer on the mating surface, once the bolts are removed a sharp rap with a hammer on the end will break them loose.

You will want to save the nuts and bolts to plug the holes that it leaves in your floor.

And the passenger side gas tank strap bolt commonly breaks, so soak it good in PBR blaster.

I'm going to do this soon on my rear too. I still have my bumpers minus the rubbers and I would sell them with the car. Removing all four bumper shocks shed another 20 pounds off the car. It's another one of those things that adds up and makes 280s so heavy compared to 240s.

Just FYI, there are 3 bolts you must undo from the underside too. Each rear sock has 6 bolts/nuts (3 on each side)
