Hey guys i'm new to the z cars. In the last six months i have bought five. but my latest buy is a 72 240 which is giving me problems. Got it a couple weeks ago and put in some gas a new coil and points and she fired right up. Then a day or two later it started giving me problems. once you turn the car off it will not start until you open the hood and push that red button by the battery. Now this morning i tried to start the car and it will only run if you keep the key in the start position, as soon as you let off the key it dies. Any help would be great. I'm not familiar with the electronics on these cars yet.

My best guess will be the ballast resistor,
