Posted June 9, 201014 yr comment_321987 Hey guys, Just got my first z (and first classic car) a few weeks ago. I've worked on old tractor restorations with my dad when I was younger and I've always wanted to get my hands on old car to work on. As always though, should be careful what I wish for. The car has a LOT of rust. But hey it was cheap and I've got time and money to play with it, so I'm gonna go to it.Now the question I have for you guys is about replacing what I call the "inner" rocker panel. (The part behind the rocker panel with the even holes spaced along the length of it that floor pans attach to on the outside.) There's rust kind of all over in what appears to be the standard spots, mostly just on the surface and not critical (or at least until I start digging into it no doubt). The exception being the floor pans, which have pretty much entirely rusted out and started creeping up the outsides. The tunnel is surprisingly well preserved it appears, but it can't be said about the outsides.I've been searching here and through parts dealers (thezstore.com, etc..) and don't see any replacement panels for these. Do they exist? or do I just have to fab them myself?thanks! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36124-new-z-inner-rocker-panels/ Share on other sites
