I am installing new wheel bearings in my front hubs on a 72 z. My question is what direction does the inner seal face? There is a grove on the seal and i dont know if it faces the engine compartment or towards the wheel. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi There Nutz,Normaly a lip seal has a spring on one side of the lip,this spring faces what you are sealing.If there isn't a spring then the cavity in the seal fits towards the bearing.Pack the cavity with grease before installing.Roger
