I changed fuel pump/filter, drained tank, changed fuel, checked points cap etc. gets spark to plug, fuel flows to carbs, will start with starting fluid, but will not continue to run, today cleaned the bells and seems to start a little easier with start fluid, but still won't run, any ideas? the redneck 4 bbl conversion is starting to look like a smart move.

Check your fuel pressure to see if it is enough to run .Spray carb cleaner around carb base and manifold to check 4 air leaks. Also if your car has vent lines on the tank, you could have some thing in your lines that restricting your fuel, so you still even might be getting enough pressure but not enough volume. Is it possible the carbs need rebuilding? Remember if it,s getting fuel ignition,air, it should run. Ive had the same symtoms on my z, but it,s fuel injected so i dont think it will help you w/your prob, It was the fuel pump. I had two pumps that seemed to work fine, but i tested them and one was surging, I also blew all off the fuel lines out, and it works fine now. Its going to be something simple and stupid. Good luck. Loosen ur gas cap and try to start it, I know it sounds dumb but if your cap is bad then it will do that, Another possibility is tank venting not just the cap but the vent on your tank basically starving u out of gas.
