I am wanting to buy a performance suspension kit for my 73 240Z. I have been told Koni adjustables are the best. Is this so? What are you guys running where can I get them from and if you know how much? Thanks guys.........

Depends what you're after: street driving, racing, autocrossing?? My 73 i did last year with poly bushings, OEM Nissan springs, and KYB nonadjustable strut cartridges. I love it for street driving, though if i was doing it again, I would opt for Eibach progressive springs instead. The OEM springs have almost doubled in price in the last 18 months!

I assume the adjustable cartridges would be preferable, at least for race/autocross, but i can't justify the extra cost for a street ride (KYB was 34.00 each i think) HTH, Jeremiah

In my opinion... unless you are always running in first, or very close to it, adjustable strut inserts are not worth the money. There are so many other things to do first that will make your car handle better. About the only time I've ever adjusted my shocks was when we raced in the rain -- then were softened all the way -- otherwise, they were always on hard. And yes, I've always run at the back of the front pack. Some day when the rest of my suspension is up to and I start running up front, then I may invest the money in some $400 each multi-adjustable inserts.

Again, before I get bashed... adjustable shocks, especially two and three way are VERY important for tweaking those last few tenths out of each lap. Single adjustable inserts are a way to go from smooth-street to autocross/track day ready easily.

I recently replaced all of my stock rubber bushings with eurothane and went from stock springs to the Eibach pro-kit (progressive springs) and from KYB's (unknowingly) to Tokico gas shocks, non-adjustable. I use mine for weekend fun driving mostly. Anyway, these modifications have made a huge difference in my enjoyment factor.:classic: I noticed some difference with the poly upgrade but the springs and shocks were great. I will say that hitting a bump now isn't much fun. I cringe everytime I hit something because the ride is so much stiffer but man when you go into a turn it's like riding on water. It's so fluid and effortless! What a blast. I usually don't try to slow down for turns but accelerate. As for the adjustable Koni's, I thought about them myself but for the way I use my car I decided to sink that money into tires and wheels instead.
