I have a Nisondenso compressor from a Honda that I would like to use on my 72 240z. It fits where the smog pump mounts but must be mounted upside down so the fittings face away from the motor. Does anyone know if this compressor can be operated upside down without ruining the unit?

Fitting position is not an issue. The system is under pressure in operation so oil/freon are only traveling in one direction.
