ok , i started my car today, and it was starting great. but then i tap the gas to give it some gas, then the idle would be high up to 2, but i know i need to change it but, when it was idling at 2, It sounded like it was getting louder and getting crazier, so i got scared and turned of the engine, then it turned off and i saw smoke come out i think the carburators? im not sure?? :cross-eye

Sounds a little confusing, do you have any more symptoms? Have you started her since? Sound like a good carb tune up in in order.

Smoke from the carbs would be fuel vapor coming from the cylinders with open intake valves that loaded at high rpm when the ignition was turned off. Not sure on the high idle unless something is sticking in the throttle or misadjusted
