I have currently owned my 83 280zx for 16 years of which 5 or 6 of those years it has circulated throughout my family. Now back in my possesion I have found this z in dire need,(new seats, carpet, exhaust, headers, cracked dash, rust damage,t-tops,t-top seals, body not in the best shape, struts, vinly interior) not to mention 300k.Looking for a little advise.Should I restore or find a new Z in better condition despite the sentimental value?

Only you can put a value on the sentimental part. For the rest of it, it will be far, far more affordable to replace it with a better example than it will to repair one that is as far gone as yours sounds. Sorry, but it's the truth.

I`m assuming by the number of views most feel the same. What should I do with the carcus.Sell for parts on e-bay?Let scrap guy pick up for 50.00 bucks? What ya think? Sell for parts car?

Some parts my be of use to those wishing to upgrade their 240's, however with that many miles, it's questionable as to whether the parts are still viable for a swap. Things we like 240Z owners typically like to grab from 280ZX's is the F54 engine block, 5 spd manual trans, 3.9 rear end if so equiped, distributor - minus the E12-93 module yours likely has, 60 amp alternator, 15/16" brake master cylinder, rear brake calipers, stock alloy wheels, and that's about it. They might be worth something to someone, but like I said, 300K is on the end of the range of acceptabiliy in almost all cases for these parts.
