Just getting into my 71 z and there is a box on the firewall that is made by Jacobs. It says electronic ignition, but when I pull the distributor cab there are points. I can unplag it and it wont start so I know it is doing something but what? I hope this is not a stupid question but I have never seen it before. Thanks for any help folks!

ive never seen points on a 280ZX i wish mine had them. Its impossible to replace the IC module in Australia (nissan wanted to charge me $800 to get one from Japan)
