According to this site, Putting a T5 transmission into a non-280ZX will not work, as the lengths of the transmission and driveshaft are different, along with just about every other detail.

Will a 280ZX [turbo or not] engine jive with earlier generation transmissions without such incompatabilities? I'm just trying to figure out what combinations of engines and transmissions would work together without having to have customization done to the drive train beyond what I might be able to do.
