I own a 1976 2+2 with an automatic transmission. The motor is a little tired so I bought a running motor from an aquaintance at work to use as a transplant. He pulled the motor because he is installing a turbo motor from a ZX. The motor I bought has been in his car with a 4 speed. It has a stage 2 cam in it. My question is: Will the motor work with the automatic transmission, or will the cam cause the motor to not idle well? If I was driving the car I would be less concerned, but the car is my daughter's and I really don't want her having to drop the car into neutral every time she stops.

The stage 2 cam should idle fine.
