On my 77 280 .. I know I need to overhaul the entire suspension, but right now I have a noise when I take off from a stop especialy when car is cold. It sounds like is comes from the back end and like a slipping kinda grunt.

Any ideas what this is?

Rear end clunk is pretty common in these cars. You might be in the early stages. Try a search...there's about a bajillion threads on it.

Hope you get it figured out.

thanks .. it is not a clunk .. it sounds like it is external and some suspension part is slipping and makeing a noise.
