November 24, 200519 yr comment_147127 Sorry about the crappy drawing. no it won't as your presurising the cylinder side. I've also had experiences with valve stem seals coming off if you have worn guides. checking for these, look closely through the valve spring and see if they are dislodged. But the only surefire way is to remove the valve springs and check clearances with precision tooling. but you have to remove the head again..... :-( But comp so low....... I suspect bottom end. I made a tool to remove springs on the car without removing the head. but this won't truly establish valve guide wear. If it were me, I'd pull the head, strip down and check. Have it pressure tested whilst off. if it checks out ok look for bottom end problems.
