Hi. I need help. I am a "new in the hunt" Z Car baby looking for a 240z to get so my son and I can drive to car shows, but one I can also use as a daily driver. Wonder if I can get input on this car for sale on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/192201174074 With all the visible rust and after talking to the cars mechanic for the last 12 years, I see this car needing major body work and a total interior overhaul. The seller is a very nice guy in the phone. I am going on the 6th with my son to see the car. Wonder if I can get some advice on value and expected work? additinal pics from seller attached. Thanks!
  2. Can,t get it out of my mind. 15 years ago sold my 71, Z I need a project car preferably in the area. Best Regards to you all. Ron
  3. i'm just venturing into the world of car restoration and i'm starting with one of my all time favorite cars, the 240z. my grandpa gave it to me as long as i promised not to sell it, but i want to preserve it as a family heirloom. i thought it would be fine, just need some interior work and a little TLC for the engine, but it had been sitting for longer than i thought. i dont even know where to begin. i started by tearing out the carpet and insulation in the interior because it's all trashed and will need replacing. where should i go next? i have attached a link to some picture of the car i took today. i'm keeping a journal of the restoration process and all the stories my grandpa tells me when i go over to work on it. anyways, once i get it cleaned up and on blocks, what should i do first? get started on replacing things on the engine? do whatever it takes to get the thing to turn over? dissassemble and paint the body? where is the ideal starting point? it has the original block and i want to keep the original block in it. i dont mind changing out other parts like alternators and such, but it would be nice to keep anything with a vin on it the same. also did all 73's come with the hood vents? thanks, rob photos of my 1973 240z
  4. so im 15 and i recently purchased an automatic 74 260z that sat in a field for a few years. she runs now but needs work. if u can tell me where i can find some good places to find parts it would be much appreciated. so far i have -Ripped out interior panels, seats, and center console for cleaning and repair. -Replaced all fluids in the vehicle -Replaced oil filter, fuel filters, and mechanical fuel pump -And i am currently sanding and doing bondo for paint. she does have rust holes. the rubbers the go between the body and the bumpers turn to dust when i squeeze them in between my finger tips. the front left running light is broken but when i plug a new bulb in it still works. the dash has severe cracks. i need replacements. fans, tachometer, clock, and horn dont work.
