  1. Les has all the pieces, even new door panel vinyl, that looks great when complete. I got my white diamond from Les and my white panels. I have a 73 which came with Off-White or Parchment(as listed in some pubs) and Les is not onboard with the color variation. I will get the paint store to color match my "off-white" and paint my new parts that color. The bright white is not for me. I still need the door skins and seat covers and my interior will be complete.

Nice find....sweet. How much did you pay for it? (if that is a fair question?)
  3. That is too bad. Atleast you have the yellow one to take to the show.
  4. Status? Will it be ready for next weekend? Might be up your way tomorrow, going to Stone of course.
  5. I have too 71 motors L24s here in San Diego. One has E88 head and one has the E31 head. Both are running working motors, one is still in the car. If intersted PM me. I can get the engine numbers for you. I just remembered I have one in a 72 as well that runs.

Rich is so good at engine detailing I almost want to offer him money to do what does to my car. He is very good at the thing he loves to do.
  7. Thanks for the late reply but the car is already moved and sitting at my buddy's place in Glendale now.
  8. Rich, I will take you up on your offer and see you on Saturday around 1 or so....maybe earlier.
  9. I might go to Stone this Saturday, my buddies want to do Cars and Coffee on this coming Saturday. I will let you know...we may as well stop by since it is on the way home. I really love the work you and the dedication to the job. Right now I am using my GI Bill for school so it takes up a lot of my time. My buddy would really like to see the plating process in person sometime.
  10. Rich, I was up by your place yesterday at the Stone Brewery with my buddies for the 10-10-10 event. It was fun. Now onto your car: which car is this? The one you got a few months ago? I really wish I could follow your lead and get my projects done. I got 2 71s and one 73 that I gotta get done besides the 67 Roadster too. I really got get organized like you are.

Serach and ask away...I like to read new owner threads, sometimes it helps me too. Congrats on the purchase, if you are thinking of dropping a Chevy motor it Hybridz is the place to go for questions on that as this board is more a purest's site.
  12. The only time I wished I was still an Northeasterner..... One year I got to arrange a trip home to come on by and check this event out.

I agree with Carl on this one, I have an Off-white interior and had a hard time convincing Les that it was different in 1973. I got vinyl and plastic from him but it is too bright, it does not match the door panels or overhead. I talked to Jim Frederick and he said to use vinyl paint that is color matched to the panels that I want to keep. I can get a special batch of vinyl paint made at any paint speciality store. I really like the Off-white or parchment as I have seen it called. My seats have been redone in very cream color so I can't use them as my matching point. I used to see a guy on ebay selling parchment colored seat covers, he was using a copy of an original Nissan document that had the interior colors listed. The bottom line on the plastic parts is that they all come in black and are painted for the car. The vinyl can be special ordered if you really press it, the problem is the match, over the years of sun and dirt we don't really know what the true shade should be.

Not sure if the Z Club of San Diego and the Z32 club are meeting this year to drive in. I check the Yahoo group and as of midnight on the 26th they still have not posted the meeting time and place. So sad.
  15. Motorsport Auto is selling them.....not cheap.

I On the Z register my car 170933 is the highest number on the register that is still in the states. It is still a 7/73 car with a higher VIN than Eiji.

I too have a 7/73, it is a Pennsylvania car which were I came from too. I think Rich is on point when it comes to the 70-73 run. I did not think that when I purchased a 73, all I cared about was that it was not a 260. Looks to me like you got yourself a $3000 ride there. Best of luck with it and enjoy the ride.

The San Diego Z Club usually meets at Glorietta Bay park at 8 or so on the Sunday of the event. They then caravan into the car corral. It is a great event and fun to do with the club. I am happy to see 8 Datsun invited. Check the club's website or yahoo group to confirm times. Things could change, in the past Dennis Darnell would organize this event but I am not sure if he still will this year.

If you are serious and need a set of the rear flares call Tom at Thunderranch, he as the mold and can make them in fiberglass of Carbon Fiber. His number is 619-444-1006.
  21. I am sure the Murrieta event will be better than the San Diego Auto Museum event but Balboa Park is so much closer than Murrieta. Oh well I guess it is SDAM for me. I really like the DHM better I might try to make it up there...got glove boxes and a valve cover to have signed.

Nice to hear that you are doing well Mohamed, it has been years. I think there was a guy rencently on this board that got his Z redone in Bahrain...I can't remember the thread too well. I think he had a bunch of Toyota guys do the work. It turned out real nice. A 72 Vette is nice but a 72Z would also be nice. I hope you get another Z soon. Take care and keep on looking in on the board. A word of advice to those who want to go to Bahrain: don't join the Army to go, join the Navy and then you will go there.
  23. Several months ago I purchase a 73 Z in eastern Phoenix and need it towed to my buddy's in Glendale where I will store the car for a few months. Can anyone help or recommend an inexpensive towing service in the Phoenix area. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  24. I see a few parts that I am interested in.
  25. I will get a group of my San Diego Southbay guys to go.
