Butterscotch seat question
There has to be a solution to this butterscotch material problem! Would it be possible for someone to send me a swatch of both fabrics from maybe underneath their seat or something? (where fade has been minimal) I have tons of sample books and numerous sources. There has to be a close match available, but I need something to go by. Bryan

Hey Jerry, Your local automotive paint store should be able to mix a direct matching paint suitable for plastic. Bryan

Replacing/Fixing Door Panels
Hey Stephen, So from those photos, they are basically just repairing damage and reupholstering. Not original vinyl and all that. Right? When you get yours back, would you consider shooting me some close ups of the upholstery? Thanks Bryan

Replacing/Fixing Door Panels
Hey Stephen & anyone else. I have been looking into the possibility and requirements to develop a reproduction of the 70-78 door panel structure. They are very unique to say the least. Do you think there would be much interest in an exact reproduction of the panel structure (assuming a reasonable price), or are folks pretty much making do with whats available? Thanks for any input! Bryan

Early Shift Boot GROMMETS
This grommet is definitely rubber. I got a hold of one of the originals and it is a little harder than the rubber, but very little. I believe anyone would be hard pressed to tell the difference with it installed. For anyone who wants to give'em a try, they will be $3 ea. I will try to get a pic posted this evening of the 2 side by side for comparison. I won't be able to send any out til the 1st week of April. For anyone who doesn't have one, I believe you will be happy with them. Bryan

Early Shift Boot GROMMETS
Hey Fellas, I think this might be a very good replacement shift boot grommet that several folks need. See what you think. Hope these pics work. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g4/440man/100_0620.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g4/440man/100_0619.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g4/440man/100_0618.jpg Bryan

Early Z Interior Reproductions
For those of you who may not have seen the earlier threads relating to early shift boots & "pigtail" wiring covers for the 70-71 cars: I have produced some very good (according to all who have purchased) reproductions of the early 70's & 71 gear shift boots, emergency brake boots, & pigtail wiring covers (under passenger side dash). You can see a lot more info. in other threads as mentioned above. All 3 pieces are done in the same material and are very close to the original grain patterns. I believe the emergency brake boots may be the same for 70-78 cars and a little better price. If ordered individually, the price on the pigtail wire cover is $20, emergency brake boot is $25 & shift boot $45. A package with all 3 pieces is $80. A package with the wire cover & brake boot is $40. For those of you who have already purchased the shift boot, the wire cover & brake boot package is $35. All prices include shipping. Attached are a couple of photos. These pieces are also available in a nice black leather if interested (cost just a little more). If you are interested in purchasing any of these items, just send me a PM. If there are other vinyl items for any year car that you can't find or would maybe like to get a little better price, PM me also and we can discuss. There has been trememdous support for this project and I appreciate it very much! Thanks Again Bryuan

Early vinyl "pig tail cover"
The reproduction "pigtail" wire cover & emergency brake boot is done. I need to know for sure how many are needed to get more material & snaps etc. They are both done in the same material as the shift boot with black snaps. I decided to leave the white backing material on the wire cover to more closely match the original in material thickness. I believe both are of the same quality as the shift boot. I hope I've done these photos correctly. A lot of you have expressed an interest so just PM me to confirm your order. I really appreciate all who have supported this project!! Wonder if it would be O.K. to put this same post in the interiors section under a new title? Thanks Bryan

Early vinyl "pig tail cover"
Any body else gonna be interested in these items individually or in a package of all 3 pieces? (assuming they become available). Also they can all be done in other colors of leather or vinyl and different colored stitching if anyone is customizing. Bryan

Early vinyl "pig tail cover"
I am supposed to have one of the pigtail covers and the emergency brake boot coming next week. So hold off on sending me one. So you guys don't think the grain pattern should be the same on the shift boot and these 2 pieces? Hopefully others will chime in on this thread if they are interested so I get an idea of how many are needed. Bryan

door panels
I know this sounds questionable, but I used pop rivets on a restoration a few years back. I bought a strip of the fuzzy from a hot rod shop (Julians I believe) and cut it to fit. When the rivets are in place, there are kinda buried in the fuzzy stuff and out of sight. It worked great for me. Hey Graham, I might be interested in the new door panel platforms also. Might be a good candidate for upholstering back to the original look.

Early Shift Boots
Hey Guys, I'm glad those of you who have responded like the reproduction of the early shift boot. Its great to be able to provide something to the Zcar community. I have set the price for the boot at $45 which includes shipping to you. I will do my very best to get them made and shipped out as quickly as possible. I will be working on them in the evenings and weekends. It appeared there was initial interest in about 20 boots so it could take 2 or 3 weeks to produce that many, but I will send them out on a first order first serve basis. If you want to order one, send me a PM. If anyone is interested, I can do these in really nice quality black leather as well for $55 shipped. Thanks for all the interest and the compliments! Bryan

Early Shift Boots
So, Are we gonna try to reproduce this shift boot, or are we just gonna give up? Anyone who wants to send me an intact original to copy for a reproduction, will get one back for free. If I'm not successful, I'll send your boot back to you. No use in just letting this need die!

Early Shift Boots
I do some custom leather/vinyl upholstery. If anyone is willing to send me an intact old style boot, I will be more than happy to try to reproduce it. It shouldn't be too difficult if I have a decent pattern to go by. If I can't reproduce it satisfactorily, I'll send your boot back to you. Will (hls30) has seen a couple of items I have done. I also have covered a sunvisor for Tomohawk. Might be better than trying to get them from Australia. I'm in Bristol, VA. It would be good if someone could post a couple of close-up pics of the grommet that is needed as well. Oh, by the way, I am a hard core Z fan too I have a full blown 75 280 custom restoration in progress! Let me know!
