I think it is. Considering that from america you are looking at $30 plus shipping, approx $40-50 = Approx $60-70, and that most stuff from america is cheaper than can be found here, then i think it is a very reasonable price. Tom.

  3. Why not just get an l28?? the one i have is very reponsive and powerful, and the best thing is that it is eligible for all the historic classes that any z is eligible for. Tom.

Thanks guys, Dad went to the local nissan dealer before we bought the car to see what sort of parts are available and according to them they can only supply mechanical bits as they dont stock and the manufacturer doesn't make any body parts (including rubbers) anymore. I'll try the other guys and let you all know how it goes. Cheers, TOm.

thanks for the info. i have been thinking about the feasablitiy of such an upgrade but i have decided that for now i will leave the l26 in there. it is not as if the engine does not have any power, it has performance cams and triple webers and all the other good stuff and i think after some consideration that i doubt i will do the conversion. the l26 was the standard motor and it belongs in the car (historic cars with standard running gear) and so i think thats the way it will stay. it just seems weird, i suppose, to have a classic historic with a latest jap donk in it. Tom.

hi guys/gals, I been looking around lately at what sort of motor conversions people do to the zeds and i have found that they tend to put in an rb25/30 :disappoin . i was wondering if there was a specific reason for this besides the fact that it is a nissan motor? also i was thinking about whether or not a toyota 2gzgte would fit in one of these things . by the looks of it it should but i was wanting to know if anyone has done this. a motor conversion is something i would defiantly look into doing later down the track (probably when i get out of school, then uni, and then have a job) because for now the donk it has is more than sufficiant!!!!!!! cheers, Tom.
  18. well it seems we have an interesting lot of people here. i am a student at high school and i work at the local supermarket... wizz easy job and reasonable pay. i hope to do mechanical or chemical engineering at uni when i leave high school in a year and a half. Tom.

i saw an article in a magazine here in wa where a guy put a skyline gtr box in his 260z. i dont know if they are 5 or 6 speed but apparantly they fit better in the zed than the skyline. just take out the parts for the front diff and your almost there. Tom.
  21. carl, the engine vibration starts to occur at around 4000rpm and just gets worse further up the rev range, but it disapears at below 4000rpm. Tom.
  22. dad just mentioned the crank as everything else should allready be the same weight, but if it is as you mentioned then we will have to balance the whole engine. Tom.

no no, i mean bigger as in 17" bigger so that at least the rim will fill the guards a bit more. btw, looking through feb '04 fast fours i read about an ozzy 1600 datto cruise, and saw a pic of a 260 with 20" chromes.... it didnt look to good i'll say that much. Tom.

hey billramsay2002, it may look good now but the previouse owner concentrated on the go fast bits and now my dad and i will be concentrating on making it a nice ride. new paint big wheels etc... something like this would be desireable but is probably unlikely http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=12005 Tom.

It runs quite well in traffic but it really fuels up if you idle it for more than about 20-30 seconds. besides the hard to get in and out of racing seat and rough idle it is a very nice car to drive. with the overheating isuue it has a thermo fan so i dont know if that helps but it should. some pics of me getting driving instruction at barbagallo raceway, perth, australia. http://www.tamiyanitro.com/bbs/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4653 Tom.
