Antenna switch location?
I think its just the pre 73 cars that had the aerial switch on the radio, I could be wrong though. I've been told (Can't be 100% certain to authenticity) that I have the original 240Z original datsun radio that came in the car and it has no switch so i guess the switch i have on the console is original. But after nearly 30 years who knows. I have to check with other owners. RegardZ, G

Remind you of something?
I do like it and yes it does look very 240Z like. Well there has been un uptake of retro vehicles of late. For instance the new BMW mini, the new VW Beetle, the Chrysler's Cunningham and PT Cruiser but to me the 350Z looks more futuristic then retro. At first I wasn't quite sure. I would have much prefered a revival of the 240Z shape, but then again Nissan done that with the 280ZX. Its good I suppose that the company is being creative and innovative with its designs and looking to the future. The 350Z has grown on me, I actually really like it now and look forward to seeing them on the roads. Just my 0.2 cents

Voltage regulator: Rebuildable?
Hi Dale and John, So glad I read this. Dale, the exact same thing has happened to me in my 240Z. Mines the solid state regualtor too. I've done a bit of research and I have concluded that the solid state variety are not very easy to service. Its the mechanical type that you can work on a bit easier. With the mechanical type you can check and adjust the point gaps on them. I live in England and there not cheap to buy. Who are Pep boys? Do they have a web address? THANKS Also whilst here someone has given me a Toyota mechanical regulator, the pins are the same and so too is the voltage. Is it risky giving it a go? I'll save myself loads of $$$.

serial number location?
As far as I know. No were else unless its a North American car. Then it would be located on the top of the instrument panel cowl and is visible through the windshield. Also it should be on the the original log book. If you have the vehicle licence plate number the Local Driving Licence Vehicle Authorities could trace it for you. Good Luck.

Rotisseries
Kmack, Thanks for sharing that with us. I'd love to build one as I'd like to renew the underseal, alas my garage is just big enough for the Z.

70-24zw/auto trans
Craig, if you have the 1st 240Z with automatic trans I wouldn't drive it daily. Just my opinion but you have a special car, I'd use it as a second car as opposed to a daily driver.

Position of Euro front Indicators
Unlike the US cars the UK 240Z and many European models had the front indicators on the bumpers. Does anyone know why some cars had them ontop of the front bumper whilst others had them below? There doesn't seem to be a logical pattern as to which year of cars had them. Just curious to hear if anyone knows why there is a variation? Thanks in advance.

What year is mine & what badges?
Not sure what you mean by being told there should be 3 holes. Where? If you have vent holes where the C pillar is then you need the badges which do not say 240Z they are for 1970 cars. The seires I cars had the vent on the rear deck lid which you have which suggest a 1970 with cross over to 71 car.

One last question
If you go to www.ebay.com your bound to find some, there always turning up on there.

what colors did they make for the 240's dash?
I may be completely mistaken but I thought that I once read that a 5 speed was available for the 240Z in the US as a dealer option. Anyone heard of this or I may have my wires crossed.

An early 1970s 240Z discovered
Amazed how cheap these cars go for in the states. Our prices are around $10,000 mark for a good example. There pretty rare in the UK.
