What model Z do or did you own?
Seeing as in the Japanese market the Z cars were always called a "Fairlady Z" (even with the "350Z") I think that putting more options to vote would be over-complicating things. Perhaps a vote for "Other Z"? For Alan, at least!

Ok, 240k here...
Cool! Thanks Mike, and 2ManyZ's, that'd be great if you could move the old threads in here as you come across them. Makes it all organised. Bill, a 240K is what you see in the picture on Michael's post! They shared basically the same engine as the 240Z - a bit of a sister car. They came to Australia, New Zealand and some parts of Europe to fill the gap between the 180B Coupe and the 240Z. Didn't come to America though, so I'd be surprised if you saw one!

Loss of power after high speed run
Did you check the fuel lines or just the fuel bowls? Disconnect the fuel line before the fuel filter, and have a look. All the gunk can restrict fuel flow, causing something a bit like your problem to happen...

Loss of power after high speed run
Your car is 30 years old. Did you check your fuel lines? Very common problem, easily flushed... Sounds more like tired carbs though. If a 50 year old is made to run as fast as a 20 year old, he'll probably need medical attention afterwards. You know what I mean?

I think my autox vids came out pretty good...
Steve, yes! Yes you're right, sorry about that - you and 2ManyZ's are just so similar :cheeky: That's the shot - awesome one at that. The 1024x768 version you sent made for a perfect desktop wallpaper.

Heh. Funny thing is, I lost everything a while back too. Was a great shot too, I edited it a bit and it made an awesome background... I wonder if 2ManyZ's still has it??? (if it was you! ) Sorry about that.. in regards to your loss of data on your hard drive, I feel your pain.

Colour Schemes
As long as you're steady with the mouse, colour changing isn't really that hard! Where you've got to at least have some graphics design skill is with knowing what Hue/Saturation/Lightness is...... A lot of experimentation and you'll get what you want!

Colour Schemes
Personally I think it would have looked better with the standard lights.......... But I guess that's the price to be different

Parts Swapping 240K Sedan to Coupe
Sorry, forgot to mention. The site is down at the moment. http://www1.linkclub.or.jp/~ackn/any/tail/tail.html I do not know where to get some fender mirrors at the moment - at least, not KPGC110-looking ones.

Welding/riveting the metal into place? What metal? About the globes - no, the sockets are for dual filament bulbs too, there are three wires back and Razor is right about bulb fitting! I asked a Japanese C110 and a C210 owner and the operation seems to be correct. The C210 owner (Ackn) showed me a webpage with pictures for each stage of the lights operation! It was great, and could possibly answer the question of the dual-filament bulb on the outside. When the parkers on a C210 are on, only the outside lights glow. Only when the headlights are turned on do the inner ones go on also. So....... perhaps one filament is for each stage??? I don't know too much about electrics, so I dont know if this makes sense or not. The C110 owner (Akihito) didn't distinguish between parkers and headlights...

Why waste $ on turbo when...?
What I saw yesterday made me laugh so hard I had to go home and get the camera. (if you can't tell, thats really badly done MATTE chameleon paint. It looked like sandpaper)

Parts Swapping 240K Sedan to Coupe
Like I said, both lights are like this, and from pictures it seems that that's how they're meant to be. I replaced a few bulbs that were dead / dull and tried swapping them all about. But this is how they are. Attached is a picture of a sedan... not a GT-R but I think they'd be the same. I also recall seeing on the front cover of a magazine a GT-R with only the inner lights on. This doesn't seem to answer the mystery about the dual filament bulbs on the outside, though. For what its worth... at least some R33's have only the outer lights for braking, as well as at least some R34's. And I saw a Turbo R30 just the other day with the inner lights lighting up only. All a bit fishy though, I've emailed a couple of webmasters from Japanese sites - maybe they will be able to help.

I have a mate who claims to have seen a blue "GTR" also...... if you could try to track that owner down it'd be great! There's a silver 240K on the coast which is IMMACULATE (from a distance), it looks brilliant in the silver with the Gold Coast sun... Oooh!! I was contemplating painting my bonnet matte black also - I was inspired by that picture of the Fairlady Z and the GC110 on the Gallery here somewhere... I can't wait to see pics! The more I see the lines of hte rear of my car the more I like hte idea of a slammed-down cruiser... but no! Maybe I should get a 4 door for that as well.
