LED's are liek basically super powerful lightbulbs.. that are quite tiny.. that give off an very bright glow, and can last for up to 10,000 hours! seriously.. no joke....

LED dash lights.... :)
interesting idea? you saying that you have never heard of it? All of my fellow Sentra owners.. and on the Sentra Forums... its been a really popular do put in LED's to replace the lightbulbs behind the cluster. Most people just put in red or blue or bright arse white LED bulbs behind the cluster for an really bright, clean, indiglo look. So anyone know

Stereo Install....
before I open up my dash and install my Kenwood Head Unit... is there an Harness I can buy for an easily install... or should I cut and slice the wires and stuff? Or should I have a professional install them? I have installed Stereo's in two different Sentra's but they had harness's at the store...

My dash is cracked
try fiber glass.... if you have any skills... what you can do.. is take out the dash... and cover it with duck-tape (so the fiberglass will come off easily) and basically, you know what to do from there. Just be sure to use the right amount of layers.. and resin, and cut and trim, and do LOTS of SANDING! It should come out pretty good, but you have to drill holes, and it may not fit %100 since the mold from fiberglass is slightly larger. Aluminum... hell no... it will get very hot, very fast and it will get your car very hot from the heat being released... also metal contracts and expands.. which many mess things up, and push and move everythign around, like the guages and radio. Try a carpeted dash or go out and buy the dash cover, from Victoria British... it'll be worth it.

Sizes of Guages in an 1978 280Z
I was curious... If I ever wanted to replace the guages in my *soon* to be 280Z (2 days now hehe) what sizes are the guages? I have noticed that several people have just gone in and replaced the original guages with new ones... and I'm not really interested in the overlays.. but what are the sizes of the Speedometer, Tachometer, Clock and Fuel and etc.? *size as in diameter and depth??? And maybe if you don't mind... does anyone have the model numbers of the guages like from reputable companies like AutoMeter or a dependable place? Example...

'78 280Z with an 280ZX turbo exhuast manifold.. im lost.. :(
Ok.. finally I am going to get my 1978 280Z within days now.. as soon as my parents get a baby loan. But anywho.... If I wanted to put in a turbo into my L28, can I use an turbo exhuast manifold from an 280ZX and simply put it into my older 280Z? I know that i would have to get an intercooler and turbo and down-pipe... but would I have to get different injectors and pitons and stuff? or would the engine be safe with just putting on an ZX turbo exhuast manifold, turbo and intercooler and ZX downpipe?

Size of stock rear speakers?
since their in the back.... "behind" our seats.... other than the 2+2 i think.... wouldnt we be able to get a dremmel tool or something, and some mounting hardware to get any other speaker sizes fit? Because I may switch out my 6.5" Kenwoods from my Sentra into the 280Z... too much work... or make it happen?

Another Dash Question.....
so maybe I should just get the 1978 280Z.... seems lighter... quicker... and smoother but... here's what i am debating over... one guy selling 2 cars.... 1978 280Z 103,000 miles on it rebuilt engine, black leather interior, bright orange paint, FAIR condition, automatic transmission, sunroof all for about $2,800-$2,000 depending on his final decision. or 1982 280ZX 63,000 miles on the orignal engine and chassis, tan cloth interior, new tan paintjob (2 yrs.old)... never driven in the rain, no sunroof, automatic, GREAT condition for about $3,000-$3,600 depending on him again.... so.... which would be a better buy....

How much to outfit a shop?
if you really want good consitions for the car... most shops actually have an climate controlled.. constant temperature and humidity for perfect engine conditions... and that would be $$$$
-
Another Dash Question.....
I can actually get an classic Z... the car im buying is gonna be an 1982 280ZX... with 63k on the original engine or I can get an 1978 280Z with 103k rebuilt enigne... for about $2000 buts an nasty neon orange color... and isnt in too good condition... but the huge differences between Z's and ZX's? Other than the e(X)tra features and body additions.. it looks virtually the same to me.. has the same engine... but has diff. wheels.. dimensions... dash... i dont get it

How much should I pay.... 280ZX non-turbo
he's the 2nd owner... has ALL records.... about a 1500 dollar paint job... and I tell ya.... virtually MINT condition inside and out... and 63k on the engine and car itself....
-
How much should I pay.... 280ZX non-turbo
My neighboor is selling a 1982 Datsun 280Zx.... non-turbo... no sunroof.... it had new paintjob, factory color, about 2 years ago.... and the engine has 63,000k. The engine needs a tune-up and its an automatic transmission. he is asking $5,000 but negionable.... and Kelley's BlueBook says its about $2,800. No rust.. excellent condition.... How much should I pay for it?

Another Dash Question.....
damn.. so are you guys saying... basically it's out of the question unless I want to spend alot of work and money on it? I just hate the ugly boxy look.... is there any ZX that has the circular dash or just older 280Z's and 240's 260's etc...
