yep.. true.. Nissan SR20DET engines... AWD platforms for common Sentra and Pulsar swaps.... AWD engine.. with AWD tranny that can be used in a FWD platform in an Sentra or SE-R with the original SR20DE tranny. So... the owner could of gotten an SR20DET... BLueBird... Avenir or GTiR engine to power his AWD Z

Did 280Z's come with factory sunroofs? For some reason.. I have one..... Someone of the NissanForums insisted that mine was aftermarket.. and was NEVER an option... is this true?

anybody know anything about that side scoop/vent? I assume it's all custom, but I would love to have one like that

no way i could ever afford or attempt to but in an RB series motor. If i were to go 2.0 i would go SR20DET.... but other than that.. i want something fairly simple for my low income 17 year old high-school student as myself to accomplish. Just something with an adiquite amount of difficulty.... good power.... and lots of help if I need it.... (hint: you guys )

so then basically there is the common engines... L24/L26/L28/L28eT/VG30ET for Z cars and then the VG30ETT so basically all those other names are just diff. heads... hmm Sorry about my lack of research..... but what is the most common, most powerful head swap for L28's?

I have noticed that while browsing and reading on this site and about Z cars.. there are several different types of engines... for example: I know I have an L28e (L-engine code/28-displacement 2.8/e-single overhead cam) Then i see stuff like an N42 L28... N47... and a bunch of other... RARE or hard to find engines.... what are common or rare Datsun engines that people want or swap in? I know there is the common V8 swap and stuff, but I would like to know the inline 6 swaps.... and how special are they?

i like that side scoop/vent... very smooth shave job.. but i don't like the nose.. but I think it's very sexy

the flames comming out of the car's is indeed real. I watched the t.v. show "Trucks!" on TNN and they did a great example of how to install one and make it happen. From what i remember... He drilled a hole in the exhaust tip... a few inches back, and put in a sparkplug. I guess that the exhuast coming out of cars is "still" flammable, and that sparkplug ignites the exhaust. I don't remember exactly, but if you go out and buy some cheap materials you can do it for cheap.. or you can go.... http://www.autoloc.com/detail.lasso?itemid=FLAMEthen again that's supposedly the professional way to do it. The unburned gas that comes out of the exhuast is ususally filtered by a catalytic converter.... but who knows...

there is an Z in "To Fast To Furious".. look around in my opinion, that movie kicked arse, much better than the 1st, the races are awsome.. great filmatography excleent special effects... extreme stunts.... full of action, and less cheesy cars than you think. They look good and look fast on the movie, and thats waht gets my blood swirling.

so... obviously... not a very practical idea... and very expensive.. so then... back to "that" question... Can i safely shift from the furthest position (1) to about 5,600 RPM and then shift to (2) again to about 5,600 RPM and then finally to (D) safely? *only using 5,600 RPM as an example... I feel that running to the redline on an automatic will do some damage to the tranny* When i was reading info about my Sentra, I heard it was BAD to do that.. only because the back pressure and heat building up can damage the transmission. SO will an auxilary tranny cooler, or rebuilt tranny, allow me to safely do this? *Manually* shifting my automatic through only 3 gears and then letting it take over in (D) drive, allows me to run to much higher RPM's and much faster acceleration times.... that is why I am curious.

SR20DE motor's are awsome... but practically... not a great idea.... it will take lots of custom fabrication to go from huge motor mounts which holds an inline 6 to hold an 4 cylinder.... also you have to mount the engine in the right place or your driving is gonna be really wack.. you need custom axels, somehow fit the transmission, get a new guage cluster.. ohh soo much. Also you have to.... have to!... get an SR20DET from an Silva (S13/S14/S15) or.... you can get an SR20DET engine from an GTiR or BlueBird or even an Avenir and get an (S13/S14/S15) transmission. *only since ALL SR20DET engines are AWD but they have diff. trannies.. but for a RWD configuration, the engine needs to be layed out differently. it's alot of work, it'll take alot of money..... but for a stock pump out of 205HP... and you can tune it up really quick and still get good MPG.... it's all up to you.

thnx yeh my subs are a bit overkill... but if you look on my cardomain site.. you could see them in my old Sentra.. and I didn't want to put them to waste or sell em... so hopefully I will be able to make a custom box to make it look nice. BTW... anyone know where to get the center caps from my wheels? They are Western R14 wheels.. and I am missing "one" center-cap on my back drivers side.
