Opinions on those Clear Headlight Covers... for an Z
... i knew someone would bring that up My sunroof is obviously aftermarket, and i'm not a huge fan of it, but it's nice to have in the summer .. some old lady put it in as a dealership option. And actually, I can see out of my entire back window surprisingly.. this is a good picture of how much you can see..... (well a weak example) How long have I had it? My signature says it all May 21st, 2003

What? My passenger can fit fine in my Z.... as well as my self. I realize that I loaded up the rear end of my trunk with my speakers, but the sound is truely amazing. I still have space in my trunk to put stuff, and my passenger area has plenty of room for people to sit, or lay the seat completly back. Just cause it's a little car, doesn't mean it should kill my love of a Full sound system... which exists of a great headunit, full component speakers, amplifier and subwoofers

Brand new Z owner - Door Lock Question
What do ya mean you can only lock it while the door is closed? If you are from the outside, you can lock your door, by pushing the lock down, and then before you close the door, hold the handle UP, untill the door closes. You will notice the lock stays down. But I had problems with my locks... I actually lubricated all the joints and parts and stuff and it worked great. Also, since the car is nearly 30 years old, your key or the teeth inside the lock may be a bit worn out. If lubricating doesn't work, you may have to look closer at everything, and you may have to replace the locks.

Honestly, I don't know, I combined 3 different Ancient Greek names... which I don't even remember now... um.. Proximo... and two other names kinda neat huh? So i definatly think I may go out and buy some headlight covers.. which would look better on my orange car? -The clear ones? -The tinted ones? -The clear ones with chrome trim? -None.. leave it stock!

Opinions on those Clear Headlight Covers... for an Z
it's just the fact.. that you show such a strong interest in the Z car, and you have replied to or discussed nearly 1,500times... almost all Z realated, so I figured.. why in the world don't you have a Z. I kno the number of posts don't matter, but If I had a huge interest in Honda Civic's, and I discussed stuff that much in a Civic forum I would of purchased one by now. I just didn't know that you used to have one. I am deeply sorry that you don't have one anymore But it's great you are still informing other's and helping us out when we need you. anway back to the topic... So then clear headlights would be a good choice for my orange Z car?

L28e... diesal... from 81-84 Maxima's (810)....
I was curious.. has anyone attempted swapping an diesal L28e from the older Maxima's..(810's)... 1981-1984? Because they have L28's but are diesal, I figured maybe someone attempted this.. Would there be any advantages to this other than not having to replace the sparkplugs since there are none?

Opinions on those Clear Headlight Covers... for an Z
I was curious... what is everyone's opinion on those clear headlight covers for our sugar scoop headlights? I figure that they look similar to older Jaguar's and Ferrari's and some Porche's. I would like to get a set, to have a newer look, *minute improvments on aerodynamics and a smoother body style. However, I do kidna want to keep the car looking all original, and I don't want any cheesy, ricey accessories. What is everyone's opinion on them... for an Z.. like a 280Z, not a ZX.

What's needed for an R200 4.11 differential swap on an '78 280Z?
that's actually where I got my info.. and where I read about the 4.11 swap.

What's needed for an R200 4.11 differential swap on an '78 280Z?
all '81-83 non-turbo ZX's have a 3.90 ... great the quest begins... this is a basic bolt up right? since it's the same engine and stuff right?
-
What's needed for an R200 4.11 differential swap on an '78 280Z?
well after a quick 5 minute research.... the 3.90 would be better for an all around performance. Faster acceleration, but with an better top end... but where the hell can I get an 3.90?
-
What's needed for an R200 4.11 differential swap on an '78 280Z?
so... would the 4.11 be the best choice for my automatic.. you should I go for an 390? What would be the pro's and con's about that?

Nissan Skyline GTR motor swap for sale
I made several straight facts about the engine and how difficult the install will be. here is some info on the RHD problem. and no they don't ask why the skyline isn't sold in the U.S... anywhere in that thread... what are you talking about. Here is the problem... with Skyline engines... other than the labor and parts.... Skyline ENGINES are simply they are illegal in the United States only because of emissions. Skyline cars are illegal because of U.S. emissions, speedometer , crash structure , lighting , US VIN , warning , and information labels. READ this... http://www.motorex.net/faq.html#1

Nissan Skyline GTR motor swap for sale
Currently there are 66 registered Skylines in the U.S.A. with all RHD, none of them converted. it is not illegal to drive an RHD car in the United States and you do not need a special license. Also the only legal place to import an Skyline into the U.S.A is called Motorex. (www.motorex.net) And they leave it RHD.... i even saw an RHD jeep yesterday If.... and only if... they converted a Skyline to LHD there would be difficulties with the turbo's yes.... However, since they will begin selling the newer R35 Skyline in the U.S.A. they will be LHD and have completly different layouts in the chassis and engine. I am speaking of R32, R33, and R34 Nissan Skylines, which they will probably never sell at every other dealership, and will be nearly half the car's value or more to make it LHD. If you were to put in an RB26DETT into an 240Z or 260Z or 280Z, it is not difficult to install. http://hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15544 Credit to "stony" No where you have to move around the steering column.

RB26DETT from an R33 GTR.... which normally has an 6-speed AWD tranny.. so he is using an RWD 5-speed tranny from an RB25DET Prices for a front clip.. complete with everything for an RB26DETT can be found for about $5,000 to $6,000 and an RB20DET can be found for about $2,000 to $3,000 for one in great condition

Turbo vs Stroker? whats better?
Superchargers... are belt drivin turbochargers, are more expensive and are much much easier to install, and spool up faster. They can provide up to 55% increase in power. That's why those massive drag cars, that hit like 255MPH in about 4 seconds, use Superchargers... no lag. Turbochargers... are more efficient, as the exhuast gases spin the turbo to compress the air. They are cheaper, can provide 30-45% more power than your stock engine and are much more difficult to install.

How have some of you never heard of an Nissan Skyline! RB26DETT.... 2.6L inline 6... DOHC... Twin Turbo.... 297HP AWD !!!!!!!!!! It's a Japanese legend, that costs almost $90,000 to legally import into the U.S!! Lucky the U.S. will sell them in 2005... no need to fear. Daniel... I absolutly hate you ... Ever seen teh Fast and Furious? There was a yellow one in the first one, and on 2 Fast 2 Furious it was the main Silver car in the beginning. I don't get it.. .how the.... what the.... :dead: NO!!!! Skyline's are Right Hand Drive... but that doesn't get in the way.. wtf. Skylines are illegal in the U.S. because of emissions, the speedometer reading KmPH instead of MPH and because of crash ratings... that's it... - Nissan Skyline GTR motor swap for sale
