Things To Do In Boca Raton, FL Area?
I started doing my own body work, and that's as far as I got before I had to call it quits. With a kid on the way, I'd have no time to finish it, so I sent it off to Maaco. I know that's a terrible thing to do, but they actually did a decent job. I was in it for about $1100. I found that most body shops, before they even saw the car, when then heard "75 280Z", they automatically threw a number of $5k. or higher, which I found frustrating.

Things To Do In Boca Raton, FL Area?
I never got a chance to go out drinking, I met with the captain during my lunch hour. I keep tossing around the idea of a front bumper, but not at the top of my priority list. Btw, I was close to keeping a patina look, this was on the way to the body shop, I almost told them to just clear coat the car the way it was, but ultimately chose white, to try and keep it classy

280Z EFI parts and turbo manifold
Still have a few items left if anyone needs anything. For some reason I'm not able to edit my initial post, but I have the regulator, harness and airbox available.

That airdam was an ebay purchase, pretty sure it's a reproduction.

Hey Bruce, thanks for posting pics! Any other pics you may have taken of the car? That is my white Z. The muffler is a titanium Vibrant muffler that came off a Mosler MT900.

280Z EFI parts and turbo manifold
Thanks! I was close, but in the end I chose the simpler, less expensive route. I still needed to figure out a tps, plus I'm terrible with wiring, and worse at trying to figure out how to tune with a laptop. I actually picked up an engine a few months ago, supposedly fully built L24 with a draw through carb setup. I still haven't torn into it, looks to be an old setup from the 70s or 80s, but I like the uniqueness of it. So the turbo dream is still not dead just yet! Here's the thread for reference: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55823-draw-through-carb-turbo-setup/

280Z EFI parts and turbo manifold
My plan was to go full standalone and turbo the car, but took a step back and decided to simplify everything and add a set of carbs. Right now my 280 is running a couple of round top carbs. The obvious 280z parts are used, one AFM and ECU came off my car, so they are used, the backups were also purchased used. I don't know the story of the turbo manifold, it may even be coated, this is how I got it. Intake manifold was all my doing when I bought my car a few years ago, it had one bad injector and rather than replacing it for cheap, I spent quite a bit more getting a custom rail made, that fuel setup has about 15k miles on it over the last 3 years. I don't know the CFM rating on that fan, it was a take off from a Cobra replica, the guy did 2 smaller fans, the fan has maybe a few hours on it. Fuel pump, maybe 5k miles. It was replaced after my stock one failed. I thought about keeping this stuff, and building an engine for boost, but it's time to clean up the garage.

280Z EFI parts and turbo manifold
I was trying to sell the setup complete, but doesn't look like it's happening, so it's time to part it out. Prices do not include shipping, and that'll be extra. I am open to reasonable offers as well. I take paypal, or if you're in South Florida, I can meet up and save you on shipping! Here goes! - N42 intake manifold with custom fuel rail with -6AN fittings. Uses Bosch EV6 injectors currently using 19lb injectors, the possibilities are endless for injector sizes. Manifold was machined to fit them, so this setup has to go together, I will not separate the rail and manifold. Some components were removed from the manifold, egr, dashpot, auxiliary air regulator, and 7th injector. - SOLD - 2 x 1975 ECU. I bought a spare as a backup, it was tested on the car and ran fine. - $75 each - 2 x Airflow meter. Same as ECU, bought a spare as a backup - SOLD - Wiring harness with EV6 injector pigtails. If you need it for stock injectors, you'll need to cut the pigtails off - $75 - Stock fuel pressure regulator - $35 - Stock airbox - $30 - Rubber intake boots (no tears) - $30 - Bosch 044 fuel pump - SOLD - 16" electric fan and thermostatic switch with relay harness - $60 - L28ET turbo manifold. Modified for a T4 turbo, and has a v-band flange for an external wastegate - SOLD

Draw through carb turbo setup
The guy I got the car from had 3 more rust buckets in his yard, and you can tell they have all been sitting for a long time. His brother bought all these cars over the years with hopes of fixing/rebuilding, etc. He passed away, and now the city is asking he gets rid of them. The story I got from this car was the guy who built it had to sell it due to a divorce (and I'm wondering if all the money he spent on the car is what lead to the divorce). I don't know if and how it ran, but I did take the valve cover off and the head looks very clean, also fresh oil in the engine, and crank spins freely, so far so good! I hope to get the engine pulled over the weekend and start digging into it.

Draw through carb turbo setup
If the engine checks out and I go EFI, it will be with a more modern turbo. I still have all my 280Z parts, intake manifold, etc. I even have an L28ET manifold that I can use if I decide not to use this one, which is a stock exhaust manifold with an up pipe for the turbo.

Draw through carb turbo setup
Greetings fellow Z enthusiasts! I just picked up a very very rough Z (which will go to the scrap yard), but it came with a supposedly built L24 with a draw through carb turbo setup. In my internet search, I found something similar, made by Crown many years ago. What I have is very similar, but the log manifold that connects the two carb manifolds is different, and looks custom made, also, very nice piece despite all the rust. The guy I bought the car from said the previous owner had about $9k worth of engine work done, I won't know until I pull the engine out and get it checked out. What I found interesting about this whole setup was the use of pipe fittings and valves everywhere, pretty sure this setup was done before AN fittings were available The carb inlet pipe has two nozzles in it that spray right into the carb, not sure if that's for extra fuel? A single SU carb doesn't seem adequate for a turbo setup in my opinion. The fuel line was connected to a T that goes to the custom made balance tube, and on one end was some kind of electric sensor, or switch? It could be that someone just stuck a hose on that fitting over the years to cover it, I don't know for sure. I also have an adapter for using a Weber carb with this turbo. I'd love to hear more from those of you who may have some info on this setup, it's pretty unique. If this is a fully built engine, and still good, I struck gold for sure! At that point I might just ditch the carb setup, and go for a more modern EFI setup. This will eventually make it's way into my 280Z which I recently converted to carbs since I was tired of all the EFI problems. Here's some pictures of this thing:
