  1. Question: Wouldn't a steering rack for a RHD S30 be different from a LHD S30.

Never mind...misunderstood the post and responded incorrectly.....

The story about the head is basically crap. If you put a E31 on a L28 it will raise the CR slightly but not enough to amount to anything, if you put a E88 on it, that will actually lower the compression.
  4. It's the plastic cap that goes over the injector nozzle.
  5. Hopefully you won't have to take the test in the rain.

I meant that one was 'nicer' than the other.

Maybe one........Personally, I wouldn't make the drive to look at it(JMO).
  8. That will be crazy fast in Z! I have an LS2 GTO with mods that bring it to roughly 410-415 rwhp. Similar motor, but the Z weighs much less.
  9. That appears to be a LS series motor as in LS1, LS2, etc. Which one is it?

Dave, I believe you meant to post this link: http://webspace.webring.com/people/cz/z_design_studio/transmission.html The one you posted if for a 300ZX Twin Turbo.

    Go Daddy!!
  12. I've owned a Datsun of one type or another since 1970 until I sold the 810 last June. I love the GTO but it's a different feeling. I love the way my wife, Daisey, puts it. She says the the Datsuns were family while the GTO is simply a possession. For the most part, I'd have to agree....
  13. Come on by, I might even have a Datsun by then....
  14. IIRC, they're located in Mira Loma which is about 20 miles south of where I am in San Bernardino.
  15. Both links lead me the same place:confused:
  16. The listings shown are only for flyers/brochures; not for the game itself.

Unless you're into things like check kiting, bogus deposits, and other such illegal business practices, I doubt if you'd really want to be tied to that company in any way. They went out of business and were absorbed, through mergers, etc. in 1988 to the point where no part of the Hutton name exists today.
  19. I'd take that to someone with the equipment and have them transferred to DVD.

Two things.....I don't see anything that says the car has an automatic transimission and if it did, the ATF would be in the transmission so I don't see what 'making the engine block vertical' would accomplish .... just sayin'.
  21. Actually, it's missing the rear half of the console. Looks like it was cut off just behind the area where the shifter/shift boot goes. That car is fairly shiny outiside but pretty sloppy most everywhere else.

I sold two for $250 ea. in 2004 and kept one for myself (which I still have). I paid $40 ea. for the first two and $45 for the one I still have. Got them all at self service junkyards. You don't see them very often anymore. Don't know what someone would pay nowdays for one but I would guess it would be more than I sold mine for.

I would go with what Anthony says first before I'd trust your mechanics conclusion. I'd be curious as to what kind of 'diagnostic' he did since there's nowhere to plug in the commonly used equipment when working on these 30 plus year old cars. Is he familiar with 280Z EFI? Does he know that even when everything is right that you'll never see 12 volts at the injectors since there are dropping resistors in the system that lower the voltage to the injectors and to the ECU?
