I just scored a couple of remanufactured Hitachi SU Carbs for my 240z. My former front carburetor was really worn and burning the spark plugs. I have a Far 311 New race cam and would need to purchase a couple of performance jets for both of these Hitachi carburetors. Who sells these jets? Black Dragon? EBAY?

I am having some kind of stalling problems with my 1972 240z. As mentioned before my car has a Far 311 Race Cam with 2 stock rebuilt SU Hitachi carbs The car tends to stall on intersections and traffic lights. Due to the race cam the mechanic increased the RPM to 1100 but sometimes in such situations it lowers to 700 rpm. Should i consider replacing my carbs with these remanufactured ones? Datsun 240Z Carbs Rebuilt Polished Twin Round Top Su Carburetors | eBay Any honest opinions? This carbs are not cheap!!

Guys, just this morning i changed all the twice pipes exhaust to a single pipe with muffler and resonator. Nice job and now the car is quiet as i wanted. I paid US$230 plus 7 per cent tax for parts and labour. I will post the pictures son. Thanks for your good advice. No more twice pipes exhaust. Really not interested in that kind of drag crap.

Based on the fact that the car has this type of exhaust i would like to know what kind or Brand of muffler i will need to quiet down the car as a normal sedan. I read somewhere i could get these 3 seals from KIA? Specifically KIA SPORTAGE model 1996-2001? If this is true what is the part number and specific car model? 2 doors or 4 door kia sportage?

I need to readjust the door hinges and change the original worn door seals in order to be able to wash the car without having wáter rush in. Can someone advice which seals and gasket shall i change exactly? Will these ones be okay: Datsun 240Z, 260Z, 280Z, 280ZX & Mazda RX7 iCatalog - Black Dragon Auto Parts 59-820, 59-821, 59-876. or will i need any other additional seals and gaskets?

OKAY. Problem solved! The mechanic readjusted the Hitachi su carbs and check on the electronic distributor. He found a loose wire inside that was part of the original distributor and had nothing to do with this electronic one. He also changed one of the front 3 spark plugs which that had turned black due to the misadjustment of the carbs. Now the car is really stable between 1,000 RPM to 6,000 RPM. Once it reaches 6,000 RPM it fails a Little bit. Which direction shall i take? Any advice?

My car has been upgraded with the following specifications: New Datsun L24 motor with crank and rods from a L26, special oversized 84mm flat top black coated pistons from D.L. Potter Engineering with E88 Head and Far 311 New Race Cam. 2 original SU Hitachi round top carburetors rebuilt with race jets / needle. I am having stalling problems and really want to go back to stock!! What parts will i need to purchase in total besides of the camshaft based on the above upgrades? Who sells them? I really prefer high quality parts and Genuine Nissan if available.

i am having a similar problem and maybe considering on reverting to the original camshaft as the car is tending to fail when it is between 800 to 2,000 RPM. Once it reaches over 3,000 RPM it is really stable. The car actually has the following specifications: New Datsun L24 motor with crank and rods from a L26, special oversized 84mm flat top black coated pistons from D.L. Potter Engineering with E88 Head and Far 311 New Race Cam. 2 original SU Hitachi round top carburetors rebuilt. Tomorrow i will have the best carburetor mechanic here in Panama, Central America where it is 32 degrees Celsius to fix this problem. I will appreciate if someone can provide me with a list of things he should check to get this stalling problem solved.

My 1972 240z needs urgent replacement of the 2 door locks with keys. The already bought the ignition switch which is really worn. Where can i purchase a set that includes the driver and passenger door together with the hatch lock with one key for all the locks? I have been looking on ebay but have only found some guys at thailand and singapore which dont seem to respond to any query. Please advised i will preferably like to invest in OEM nissan genuine door lock set.

Just filled the carbs on my 1972 Datsun 240z with Engine Oil 10w30 as damper oil. However, while keeping the car parked with the engine running it tends to lower the rpm from 1,100 rpm to 500 - 600 rpm. Eventually if i decide to turn the lights on and actívate the turn signal light the car tends to stall and shuts down. This car has the following modifications: New Datsun L24 motor with crank and rods from a L26, special oversized 84mm flat top black coated pistons from D.L. Potter Engineering with E88 Head and Far 311 New Race Cam. 2 original SU Hitachi round top carburetors rebuilt with race needle. I already used a synchronizer to sync both of the Hitachi carburetors. Another thing i did noticed is that the first three spark plugs are turning black Another weird thing i noticed is that after filling the gas tank to half, i had to wait to 20 seconds for the car to start. It has an electric fuel pump. Shall i consider buying a pair of fully refurbished Hitachi carbs from Palltech or Z therapy?
