Electrical Drain
Is there any chance a bad fan clutch could cause problems in this area? I am also having an overheating issue at idle and some have suggested it might be the fan clutch, if i am driving and put on the blinker it will flash really slow, if i rev up the blinker starts to flash at a normal pace, lights get brighter...... As well I have had the car die on me while out driving a few times and refuse to start afterwards when i notice the lighting is fading, radio goes out, and blinker slows to a crawl when on, when I notice that the lighting begins to fade, as long as I am driving (foot on the gas) the car will keep going but if I come to a stop, or take my foot off the gas the car dies I am unable to start to due the battery being dead...

Electrical Drain
I. Do have a voltage regulator, I replaced it a few years ago. What is the correct wiring for the alternator if it has been replaced? and are you saying if it is internally regulated that could have to do with it not charging while driving?

Overheating
74 260z, mostly stock say for holley 4barrel, not just a bad gauge, will go all the way red after a couple mins at most of idling, once it goes past the halfway mark hwy driving will sometimes lower the temp a bit, but as soon as back down to an idle or low speeds temp shoots up fairly quickly

Overheating
For years now I have dealt with an overheating problem and can not figure out what the cause of it is.... I just went through and replaced water pump, gasket, and thermo, cleaning radiator, replacing hoses i let it idle for a few minutes and slowly the dial starts to creep up towards the red.... I dont know what else to do any suggestions welcome. Thanks also, if i am driving the temp stays ok for the most part, but when i idle it starts to creep up, and once it gets up to high the only way to get it down is to shut the car off till it cools down, or maybe if im going 80 on the interstate

Electrical Drain
How would I know if it is internally regulated? I did disconnect the amp and now the radio fuse is not sparking, so what does this indicate? Does it mean the bolt it is using to ground is insufficient? Or that another wire is touching metal that shouldn't be? Thanks for your help, atleast now I inderstand what is causing this problem I've been having for years.

Left rear popping sound
When i go over the little reflectors on the road moving into the left lane the back left side always has a sort of popping sound, almost like metal hitting metal, or if the strut was dead... I replaced the struts and still have the same sound, any thoughts on what it could be?

Electrical Drain
I have had a drain for quite some time, after the car sits for a month or so it is usually dead or close to, and if i let it get that far it usually does not recharge well and will end up dying on me on the road. Every year or so the alternator goes bad and has to be replaced. I have gone through probably about 6 alternators in 8 years, the only reason I have never addressed the problem is the combination of not knowing where to begin on tracking an electrical drain (that eventually ruins my alternator) and i have lifetime replacement on my alternator, so its always been cheaper this way. But i would like to get things working correctly and am looking for advice on how/where to begin. Thanks

Could i just leave it open? I have no emissions testing here....

Black Sludge in Hose
I was removing a few hoses to replace and found that one of them contained a black sludge..... this sludge was also in the pipe leading into and out of the hose, my question is what is this hose suppose to be moving and is there a good way to clean this out, im sure its not suppose to be moving this through the engine..... The pictures show what the hose was, and what dripped out of it, and where the hose ran between, when I put a paper towel into the pipe that goes into the block there was a thick sludge on it like old oil.
