  6. just got some new wheels for 240Z drifter today got mine from hobby habit here in adelaide. the blair athol store. Not sure if they have more, but they definatly had out of the ordinary shells
  7. yeah i noticed few of my mates using that method. might do it for the next mask cheers. Little update: Got my service manual in the post today which should be a little help when im putting it back together. ANd this weekend, im picking up a whole 240k for free thats been sitting in a paddock for parts. The bloke is a champ for letting us take it will get a few panels i can cut out to replace my rusty ones, will take the whole tail light assembly along with another one the bloke gave me so i will have 3 to fix up. its also got a good passanger seat and few interior bits. Theres another one sitting there that was used as a rally car! even got a roll cage in it. But wait till you see the pics. the rustiest thing ive ever seen! yet its got mint chrome mirrors on it that i will take. Im also starting to strip the motor down ready for rebuild. Im thinking: valve seat grind, stem seals, all new gaskets, rings, bearings, hone the bores, maybe port the head a bit. And get the twin carbs reconditioned. all coming along slowly
  8. undercoated the engine bay today. Turned out pretty good. will sand it down get it a bit smoother. then will be time to buy some colour
  9. Even tho my 4 door is rusty, starting to like the fact not only that I found one but the fact I got it for 1400 bucks. Will be worth it when it's complete
  10. Well for a reasonable price I probably would be. I gather 4 door and coupe flares are different?
  11. they easy to come by? or is that a silly question
  12. how do i edit my posts. cant even change my pics!!?
  13. there is no joy in this.. haha
  14. ok. after having a dummy spit, i went out this morning and got stuck in. Cleaned up the inner guard and sprayed it in killrust enamel. theres a rust hole in bottom right, which i will cut out and weld up tonight hopefully. Seeing this definatly bumps moral up after staring at rust all the time Before.. After...
  15. Started sanding the guards down.. And Found this... Bodge jobs. Bog straight over big rust holes. Found them in both front guards, the doors, sill panels and rear quarters. So pretty much everywhere. From what i thought was going to be a quick job, sure as hell isnt now... *sigh* Tmrw im cleaning front wheel wells, spraying them black and possibly getting the engine bay in undercoat..
  16. Rest??
  17. sent u a pm
  18. http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Automotive/Used-Cars/AdNumber=D2718201535043 looks pretty mint!
  19. got bored when i was home so started stripping the engine bay, wire brushed the surface rust on one side, and applied killrust to it. looking better already
  20. well mines a 76 and im guessing its supposed to look like that.. so what the hell is the strip thats on mine off?
  21. Hmm weird I'm yet to see one the same
  22. It's got a long slot in the garnish and it says Datsun on that strip. Can't see what it would be off. And can't see holes as if the 240 badge used to be there. Weird hey. One of a kind haha
  23. A question also.. What's with my tail light garnish? The 240s ive seen have the small Datsun strip with room for the 240k badge next to it. Mine has a long strip as you can see. What's with that?
