  1. ok. yesterday i pulled out the rest of the vinyl and also remove the rear quarter glass and the front windscreen! It took me a long time to get the windscreen out, is that normal? There's a couple of patches of rust at the bottom of where the rubber was, it's gone through in two tiny places. Good news, my triple webers arrived today from Italy, they look brand new!! Might have to sell them to pay for all the other stuff the car needs! haha. I've added more pictures to "My Z Photos"

  7. Thanks guys, i've actually found a company that has quite a lot of Z stuff. I'm posting the progress pictures on "My Z Photos" as i go.
  8. There's also something underneath that looks a bit like chassis that is rotted through and bent! Any idea what it is?
  9. Ok guys, I've moved the thread to the MISC section of the car forums. It is tagged with: restoration, barn find, rust bucket, datsun, 240Z. Hope you can find it and have enough time to still comment! Thanks a lot everyone. Matt
  10. I've just moved the thread from the HELP!!!! section because I figured it was a bit more appropriate here. I have already got all the carpets out and the seats, which were unusually difficult, and have discovered that the drivers side floor pan is totally knackered, i can see the road through it and the rest feels like it's made of tin foil and cardboard :0( Next to come out this afternoon is the vinyl. EEEEK!! Thanks to anyone who follows my thread! Matt

  13. SO! I've got it back to my house. Took me and a friend nearly 2hrs just to get the rear right brake drum off which was siezed. Honestly, I was counting my lucky stars that that was the only one that was siezed! haha. There's a lot more rust than I had first thought but i've set myself a budget (let me know if you think I'm being realistic) of around £6500, that's around $10600. I have no intention of selling the car so it doesn't bother me if I spend more on it than it will ultimately be worth!. Can't get the boot/ tail gate open.
  14. Thanks very much guys. I am loving how much help I'm getting from you all.
  15. Thanks very much! Will i need to replace the fuel tank? I suppose it'll have lots of crap in the bottom.
  16. Also, i've bought a new set of NGK spark plugs. Only cost me £9 delivered!!
  17. So, engine turns but doesn't start. Remove a plug and there's no spark. What do I need to do/replace?
