Restoring door panels
The board for the door panels are in great shape but the vinyl is not. I was wondering if anyone has gone and just bought there own vinyl and covered the door panels themselves? If so how did it turn out?

Put on the back burner... :(
Well I came to the conclusion in October that I had a blown head gasket. Then my wife got laid off in November so the Z has been put on the back burner for now. I was hoping to get it all fixed up this winter so she would be ready for spring and summer but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I totally miss driving her!!! I swear I go thru withdraws.:stupid:

Car over heating
I just got home from work. Ive had the battery charging all day thinking thats what my problem was for the car not wanting to start. Well she fired right up ran like crap for about 30 sec. So i just turned her off. I looked at the dip stick... no white chunks but there are now little brown pockets of oil in my coolant. I am not a motor guy so this is going to be a challenge for me but I got all winter to do it.

Cable coming off of positive side of battery...
What purpose does this cable serve??? The one in my car was falling apart so I just cut it off and replaced it with one wire. Was this wrong to do? Because my car is having a bad time starting!!!

To much gas!!! Car wont start!
Ok the picture that I have attached is what my plugs looked like when I pulled them. They were more wet then dry. They were new like 6 months ago. My car is getting way to much fuel I believe. Due to this the car will not start, seems to be flooded. What could be causing so much fuel to be dumped into the motor??? 76 280z

Car over heating
Ok. I think I filled it to much then. I filled it to the top. The reason I thought of this is because the temp gauge was not reading anything over normal the night it "over heated".

Car over heating
If the head gasket is blown Im guesing its not really that much to really be noticable. The one thing Ive been thinking about is maybe i filled the radiator to much after I got done putting in my new water temp sensor. Is it possible to put to much coolant in the radiator?

Car over heating
I did pull the plugs. They are alittle black with a little bit of black stuff. not much tho. There doesnt apper to be any oil in the coolant.

Car over heating

Car over heating
The car was running with normal power. Got home and the water was shooting out of the coolant reservoir. Now she is having a problem starting again. Back to square one... I ran the car in the drive way for about ten minutes today and she didnt over heat. But have not takin it for a drive do to the car not starting now.

Car over heating
Ok.... The problem is still there... In an earlier post I said that I was having problems with the 280 starting so.... I changed all the parts that are listed above then took her for a ten minute drive then she over heated. Well now im having problems with her starting again. The motor is getting fuel but shes just not firing! Once she does start I can rev her up then she will die on me. Vapor lock maybe?

finally back on the road...
Dude the car looks sweet man! I love the color and the wheels, matches up pretty well.

Car over heating
The coolant reservoir is where it was over flowing at... well shooting out of the little hole in the cap that is...

Car over heating
Well I had bad connections to my Water temp sensor and my thermo time switch and my water temp switch needed replacing. I replaced the connectors, water temp sensor and water temp switch. I did not replace the thermo time switch just the connector to it. Then put the radiator fluid back in that had come out. Ok here is the problem im having... I took the Z for a drive for about 10 minutes. Got back and the radiator was over flowing! So whats going on??? Does it matter what wires you connect to what wires when you put a new connector on? It seems like something is not doing its job...:stupid:

What do you think... 72 240z
Ok cool. Thanks for the heads up guys.

What do you think... 72 240z
Is the car you have seen a dark red with primer on top? if so its really starting to sound fishy now.

What do you think... 72 240z
I own a 76 280z auto. I have found a 72 240z with the original motor with dual carbs and a 5 speed tranny. The car has been taken apart to get ready to paint. Windshield takin out, doors off, windows out, hatch off, hood off, and the interior all takin out except for the dash which is the original with no cracks. The floor pans are solid. There is some small rust spots but not alot. Car also comes with new windshield and two spare fenders. The guy is asking 1800 dollars for the car. I have offered my 69 ford truck as a trade and I believe he is going to take it. So... should I sale my 280 and focus all my energy towards the 240 or just keep the 280 and not bother with the 240??? So far I have 2600 dollars invested in the 280 so i could sell and take the money to get the 240 painted... Whats your guys opinion???
