  1. Im just wanting to clean the walls and the motor to make things look cleaner. I dont want to pressure wash anything! Just does not seem right with this kind of car. I am also going to remove the surface rust from the battery tray then spray some undercoating down under the tray. Whats your thoughts...
  2. I want to paint the front airdam silver like the car. That way The black bumper sticks out. I just dont know what to do with the space below the bumper. I have also thought of just doing silver mesh inserts and just have the driving lights glow thru. I dont know hard to decided. Plus I would have to fab up the mesh.

Congrats man! Love love love these cars! We need some pictures!!!
  4. Tell me what you guys think and what else I should do. I want to do something with the space under the bumper. Give me all suggestions!
  5. Here is a better pic... I hope! Before and After!
  6. Ill post clearer pics tonight. All I have right now is my cell phone camera.
  7. The bumper was a pain in the butt to get on! I hate the rain right now! But I get to park in the ware house at work so its all good! What do you think?
  8. Sounds good! How should we go about doing this? I dont know anyone that owns a z but I have seen a few around in town. We can post a thread calling for all z car owners in the salem-eugene radius of north, south, east and west. I think we would be surprised of how many people are out there. I have only owned my z for a year so im pretty new to the community.
  9. Ya it would be really nice to have a central location for all between salem and eugene to meet. I think its a great Idea. I live in sweet home and its a 2 hour drive to portland for me and another 45 min. from eugene. Just too far for me to drive, but I really want to be apart of a club.
  10. Western Oregon really needs a club. Salem to Eugene or something. That way we could do some local stuff as well.
  11. This sounds like tons of fun and ill be getting my z back this week from the shop! Ive never been on a drive like this before. Going to ask the wife If she is working that weekend. We should do a oregon coast drive like in August about a month after canby.

    Been there done that!:classic:
  14. Ya I would "buff" that with a plasma cutter and take to a yard for scrap. Save all the good parts first of course! Body is junk junk junk. You can find one that body style here in Oregon for as low as 500 bucks in way better shape. I have seen one or two with hardly no rust for 1000. Might be worth it for you to have it shipped if your serious about have a great car.
  15. I have a 76 280 as well and had this problem. I went thru all the stuff that has been suggested so far and nothing changed until I took it to the shop and had the head looked at. I had a stuck valve on the 6th cylinder and that caused the head gasket to blow between cylinders 5 and 6. The car would run just like you mentioned yours does. Cut out and die while driving and hover around 750 rpm while sitting during idle. Once I would get her to start she would puff out a flam about 3 feet long with smoke… unburned fuel from the head gasket being blown. I was only running on 4 good cylinders! GRR! Hope this helps...
  16. Hey Ken, Like Arne said you can find alot of great 240s here on the westside. Here is one im my area that I wish I would have waited to buy. http://portland.craigslist.org/yam/cto/1103135393.html and another... http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/1100998419.html
  17. I like the way mine is looking so far! The air dam will be the color of the car. Then my bumper will be black with the silver grill and driving lights in place of the stock turn signals. I cant wait till I get my car back from the shop so I can finish it! <a href="http://s54.photobucket.com/albums/g102/timwthcheese/?action=view&current=drivinglights.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g102/timwthcheese/drivinglights.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
  18. Get to drive the 76 for the first time since fall when I get her back from the shop on Thursday!!! Head gasket replacement, new performance header and exhaust!!! Totally cant wait! she has had a blown head gasket since I bought her. So I cant imagine the power!!!
