WTB: 1970–73 Datsun 240Z Project / Roller – $3-12k – South Florida

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for a 1970–73 Datsun 240Z to restore and build as a long-term personal project.

I’m a mechanical engineer based in South Florida, and I’ve been looking for the right classic car to take on. I’m hoping to do as much of the mechanical work, fabrication, and restoration myself as reasonably possible.

I’m open to a wide range of conditions, including, non-runners, unfinished restorations, and cars that have been sitting for years. I’m also interested in mostly original, running examples that could use some attention.

My biggest priority is a solid, reasonably complete chassis. Some rust and bodywork are expected, but I’m not looking for something with extensive structural rot or major accident damage.

Ideally, I’d like a clean title and as many of the original parts as possible. I’m not concerned about having a perfect engine or transmission, although I’d certainly appreciate an original drivetrain.

Budget is roughly $3–12k, depending on condition, originality, and completeness. I have funds available and am ready to purchase the right car.

I’m located in South Florida but willing to travel or arrange shipping anywhere in the continental US for the right Z.

This is for a personal long-term build, not a flip. I’d love to find a car that someone has been meaning to restore but hasn’t had the time to finish.
