Posted September 11, 200915 yr comment_294381 i am reassembling the engine after having the head reconditioned. i have put the timing chain back on but im not sure if it exactly on the right sprocket. i have tried to get the block to tdc by lining up the grove on the crank shaft so that it points up. i have done the same thing to the cam. i have heard that if the timing is off the valves can be damaged. im wondering if it matters having the chain a few teeth off perfect and if there is a way to make sure that it is perfect rather than just estimating?
