How can I identify a 77-78 5spd and a 81-83 5spd transmission. I'm assuming both units are out of the car. Is there some embossed marks that would identify one from the other? I want to get the 81-83 280z, 5spd.

On the same subject what is a fair price for a junkyard 5spd transmission? The guy wants $450. Seems too high to me.
