I'll apologize first if there is already some discussion about this that I can't find.

Can someone either direct me to the proper thread or enlighten me as to why most of the earlier Z's seem have the wheels located too far forward in the wheel openings? The front seems to be OK by the time the 2+2 came along. The rear seems to still be out of location into the early 80's.

I first noticed this on my 73 when I was making the body straighter. Sense then I've noticed it on most of the straight side view photos that I see. I remember a thread that talked about moving the differential but that wouldn’t change the wheel location.

I haven't noticed this myself SINCE the wheels have been off the my 73' SINCE I purchased it almost a year ago, if that makes SENSE.
