This afternoon I was trying to drive my car to get alignment, I know so many things to do, and when shifting from reverse to first my car stalled and would not fire up after. I started testing things and found that I have no power to my fuel pump. It definitely works still since it ran when I shorted it on a battery, and I have ground to its plug. The problem is the positive terminal has no voltage. I then tested all the fuel pump relays according to the FSM and all pass along with continuity from the positive terminal at the pump to the fuel pump relay. Also, I have reseated my oil pump plug and Have tested for voltage when the ignition is in "Start" and not just "On". Some troubleshooting tips would be much appreciated since I have already tried to look through the FSM and wiring diagram.
Anybody with a working 240z windshield washer sprayer mind taking a picture of the end of the nozzle? Mine seem to have been mangled by the previous owner. My pump was dead when I got the car and I finally replaced it, and I get a steady limp wide stream of water that comes almost to the windshield. All I can find is tips on using wire to de-clog the system, but I'm thinking with how chewed up mine are I think somebody might've reamed out the nozzles too far. Smaller orifice should provide more pressure and therefore distance, right? The closest picture to the business end of a (ostensibly functioning) nozzle is from this ebay listing and it looks pretty flat and even, whereas mine look kind of like somebody chewed on the end of a pencil. How wide is the orifice when viewed dead-on? If it's narrow I'll just mangle them further with some pliers, but I don't really want to do that without a little more info on how they're SUPPOSED to work.
Hey guys, i have a 75 280z, and it's taken me about 2 months of spinning my wheels to finally get on here and ask about this problem. I've looked at everything i can think of in the car. my fuel pump will not pump gas into the engine, it's not getting any power. i've checked the connections, and gone through as much of the harness as i can get to at the moment. and i haven't been able to find any problems, i replaced the pump to no avail. (i tested the old one and it definitely was faulty anyway) but i was wondering what else i should check to find the problem. this car has been my dream car for a long time, and i really want to get the thing up and running. any help would be appreciated.
I just completed a bunch of work on my 260. Rebuilt cylinder head, timing chain, gear, headers etc. In any case I donâ€™t know if the oil pump has ever been changed, I saw a high capacity oil pump on the motorsports website. They of course have the standard one as well. The high capacity one claims a 10 to 15 % increase in volume. Would this be beneficial in a basically stock engine, could it be harmful, or it just doesnâ€™t matter Anyone?
