  1. About 2 years ago I purchased my 280z for 300$. It was a rusted sad looking car that was stripped. I brought it home where I didn’t have a garage and just started stripping it. I got laid off that winter so I took it down to bare chassis. I took all of the suspension pieces and brought them to bare metal and painted them all. I put the car back come spring time then stripped the engine bay and interior following with a coat of paint. For a while I was gonna go with the 280zx turbo motor but then i changed. I ordered a 1JZ-GTE non VVTI and grabbed a trans from a Pontiac solstice. I taught myself how to weld when patching the sheet metal then took classes and actually got a job as a welder making decent money. I funded the z, grabbed a dash with gauges, interior pieces, wiring harness, front fenders and more. I welded up engine mounts and trans mounts, a driveshaft, and I even made brackets and mounted s13 calipers on the back! Now I wired the old to the new motor harness and I’ve had it running after welding in brackets and mounting my fuel cell. I can drive the car down the block but it runs rich as a pig and brakes up on any throttle. I’ve literally replaced about every single sensor on the motor and the ecu and igniter. Heck I hooked up an e manage ultimate to try and get it tuned out but nothing. I’m gonna try hooking up a fuel pressure regulator to see if that helps since I’m running a Bosch 044. I’ll keep posting for this build since I’ve since gotten a house with a big garage! I’m hoping to get it street ready by the time I’m 22! (April) thanks!!
  2. For Sale: Brand new Whitehead Performance Fujitsubo exhaust stainless steel adapter pipe to connect Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust system to stock 240Z manifold. I bought this from WHP it is brand new, unused still in box it was shipped in. I originally got it and the exhaust system from WHP without getting the header because it was so expensive. Since then I have bought the header and still have not installed the system so I no longer need this. I also have a new Nissan metal gasket ($15) that goes with it. This sells for $374.99 and I will take $300 plus shipping and insurance to your address. I will consider possible trades if its something I want or could use for my car. Contact me with any questions. Thanks. Here's a link to the adapter on the WHP site: https://whiteheadperformance.com/product/whp-whitehead-performance-s-s-adapter-downpipe-for-datsun-240z-stock-manifold-to-fujitsubo-exhaust-system/

  4. Hello from BC !! Eh !! I have a 1970 240Z, that i am rebuilding with my two sons, and my wife.... well she is mostly on board !! everything is new, so hopefully this site will give lots of inspiration, and ideas... Mike
  5. Hey y'all. Sorry, I don't know much about forum ettiquette as this is the first one I've joined. The guy said that everything under the hood was perfect, but after driving it for a week, I'm seeing that the carb intakes are leaking gas and the gaskets leading into the engine are wet with gas as well. I'm kind of a novice (at the Forum thing as well as owning a datsun/working on my car) so any pointers would be appreciated! I really want to do the car justice! - Josh Info: Original Engine - 90k miles Idle - 1500, sometimes dips down to lower 1000s Anything else that's relevant?
  6. I found this on motortrend yesterday. Aside from the bar across the center of the headlamps these look like they could be a good upgrade over our standard lighting. However, they are quite pricey. Bright Eyes for your Retro Ride?Peterson 701C LED replacement lamps. - Motor Trend Blog
