Or you could just find me a series one console light switch assembly to buy...indeed, that would give both of us a win only situation! Will
  2. The first car has too much iceberg showing-even as a non running "6" with no title and brand new 8 year old tires! Not enough to get me to swap $650(incl.travel exp.) and the better part of a couple of days. Too much project for too much money-without considering the time and effort in going to get it. I bought a complete 280Z 2+2 with flawless mags(but flat tires), a great front clip and a freshly rebuilt 5 speed, and a 60k engine for a great deal less than that recently, and only had $1.78 in expenses and 2 hours in the tow. Becuase it is Not a real GTO, but a modified GTE that is not even a faithful reproduction-it wouldn't be worth the big bucks as one of the original 39 GTOs built. There was a company rebuilding GTEs into GTOs-big article in Top Wheels in the late 80s. Still a pretty car. Will
  6. Any though of putting an L28ET in? Will

I used weatherstip cement, it doesn't dry out, and will let you take the lenses off again if need be-I am sure correclt applied silicone would do the same... Will The edges aren't inview when the assembly is reinstalled in the car.
  8. I'm with you ChrisA, evidence of a really good smack that got past the front wheels-what happened to the suspension mounts... Will
  9. Wot! A non-factory finish for one of your cars? It does sound goodlooking though! Why did you polish it to put a wrinkle finish? The wrinkle paints are very forgiving to their surfaces. I have two of these Valve covers, one to polish, and one to clean and leave alone. Will
  10. I don't see anything S30esque in either of these cars. If you want to see a possable bolt on replacement, have a ganader at the Quarter Window of a Tiburon...Check it out in person, I think you will be suprised! Not quite the same sort of company, but neither is a S30! Will PS, shame on you for using "nice looking car" and 350Z in the same sentance-I only did it to point out your how could you do that to the phrase: "nice looking"? A toad is a toad is a toad, and that 350Z one just happens to be a rebadged Audi!
  11. What is the most important quality you want in your Z. I just realized I forgot to add the selection: Cup Holders Sorry guys-and Vicky...
  12. The 2+2 doors are longer than the 2 seater doors, as is the door glass assembly, door glass frames, inner door pull rods, inner door trim pads, and weatherstripping. These parts will not go from a 2+2 to a 2 seater easily. I didn't mention the taillight finishers because they won't go either. Gary did bring up a good point, not all 2 seater parts are interchangeable through the life of the S30-that is to say, the door latches did change in '75 meaning there is more to making a late door fit an early car than bolting it on and exchanging hardware(the cutouts are different, so some sheet metal surgery would be required) The later door hardware does not start and continue to rattle as it wears like the early door latches do. I don't think the wheel base changed appreciably, I think the angle of the half-shafts relative to the differential was changed to change both the harmonics and the propensity to wear in the original design. If I remember correctly, the drive shaft was lengthened very slightly, and the rearend moved back, but the actual tire location did not change-meaning no change in wheelbase. Will
  13. As most have said, I believe you will be happiest with a set of well tuned Sus-buy a used set, send them to ZTherapy, and you will be all set-if you are handy, get the rebuilt/bearing kit, and rebuild them yourself. Will

I would Say ChrisA, you must have, "she said, "I've been having an affair with your mate Chrisa and he's a much better lover than you are"." Even if you weren't kissing and telling, she did-might get you more dates... WIll

It is from a funny Rick directed at Chrisa! Will
  18. 240Z and early 260Z in the USA were delivered with the common 240Z "wooden" steering wheel, early with indentions, later with cutouts in the spokes. All late 260Z and 280Zs came with the wheel pictured thought the horn buttons did vary-detailed in an earlier thread... Will
  19. Abreviated, the hood, fenders, windshield glass, complete engine assembly, complete suspension (except shocks, springs, and swaybars-Hubs and brakes will go as a complete assembly) Clutch(as a complete assy-with flywheel), side mirrors, dash, seats(2+2 seats have an extra lever, but will still fit) , console(2+2 has an ashtray at the back), all lighting, dash, engine and efi harnesses and systems(auto to auto, manual to manual), hvac, gas tank, tail lights, side markers, rear end are interchangeable between the 2+2 and 2 seater cars. Will

If my memory holds, there is a tiny philips set screw that holds the collar from the cable on the shaft coming out of the speedometer, loosen the set screw, adn the parts should be seporable. Other wise take the cable loose at the knob end, and leave it attatched. Will
  21. It's a late 260Z, 280Z wheel on this side of the pond. Will
