Variation in Series 1 ashtray covers
Thanks Chris, In looking at the assembly, neither looked "wrong" or fooled with, they just looked different. Here are the two styles I have, if you have an example of yet another, please post it! Thanks, Will P.s. the top example in both pictures has a hollow straight lined protrusion for the "handle, a larger glued in area, and has a "border around the grained area on the handle. the Bottom example is both solid, has a much smaller glue area, and in curved-as well as grained all all over the viewable (when closed) portion.

280Z 2+2 floor pans NEEDED
He is trying to set you up for asking for mo money... He has only two options with the shell, sell it for weight, or sell it for parts. He makes a whole lot more money selling it for parts. Assuming he has a torch on premesis, it will take someone an hour or so to get the equipment where it needs to be, flip the car and cut out the floor, add half an hour or so to trim it to your specifications and load it. He would never get close to $30 for the weight of the entire stripped shell, and by selling them to you for $250 stands to make atleast $100 an hour for his paid labor to cut them out and sell them to you. My car is an hour and a half away, and it would take me a little longer than it would take him to cut out the piece(s) you want, then comes adding shipping. I will sell the floor(s), package them, and get them to a shipper for $200, but then you have to pay shipping-and wait for my time frame to allow another visit to the farm. I would expect Grayhound to be the cheepest shipping-which means you would pick up the piece(s) at the closest Grayhound station. If his floors are in good shape, and you can get them for $250, you would be better off to buy his. With this in mind, before you make plans for mine, let me get some pictures of the floors to you, and see if they are in as good of shape as when I put the car up... WIll

Where to hide antenna?
I mounted two wire ones form Radio Shack inside the top front and rear window seals(before the glass was put in), they worked ok, but a signal booster made them great. I want to say the antennas I used were supplied with the wire already mounted to clear tape, and were made for taping to the upper area of the front glass. I just peeled the tape off, cleaned the wire with laquer thinner, and glued it in the glass channel of the weatherstrip before installing the glass. Will

It unscrews from the back(and pulls out the front) on the 72 and later S30s. on the early cars, it on a bracket that is put in with screws-but it does unscrew from that. Will

These are the ones I have seen Nissan OHC Nissan 2400 Nissan Turbo Nissan and A blank one with No script-was not polished, and did not appear to have been machined(casting marks on the top) (Oh sure TexasZ beat me to the punch while I was typing...again!)

I want my, I want my, I want my MPG
I want my I want my MPG Now look at this fuel system. That's no way to do it, She's running way to lean down the Freeway, That aint runnin', that's no way to do it, not running for nothing, no performance in this Z, Now that aint runnin', that's no way to do it, Let me tell ya these posters aint dumb, Say tune the carb with your middle finger, If it's stuck you better add your thumb. gotta tune these twin carbureators, Custom Needles for the old Sus, We gotta get these gears a movin', We gotta make theses tires scream. The spindle pins with the threaded wedge and the white crap, Yea buddy a bur locked it in, The Son of a bitch wouldn't come out for nothing, I finally got it and with these carbs I'll win. I could have taken off 8 bolts and a linkage, I coulda had great running carbs, look at that Video, Car's running perfect end to end, Man I could drive that, A/F is up there, whats that, burbling noises, pinging on the pistons like aboosted Z, Oh that aint bad, but it aint good either, Gatta get this car running like a well tuned Z. Now this aint workin it's way to late to do it, Can't tune a car where there ain't no light, Now this aint working-this aint the way to do it, don't run for nothing and gas aint free.

Shortening Shifter length???
Of corse it is, cut off the excess from the knob end and re-thread...but you will also have to turn down the area to be threaded to the proper size before threading it. Will

280Z 2+2 floor pans NEEDED
I would be happy to sell the floor pan-that is part of the reason I stored the car. I bought it for the drivetrain, and some interior parts, but when I took out the carpet and seats and saw the floors in such good condition, I knew someone would need them. I will post some pictures in the next few days(the car is stored an hour and a half away). I am still apprehensive about shipping costs. The car is a rolling shell if you might be interested in towing it home in leu of having it cut up. Will

P90A hydraulic cam problems, STILL!
This was a good try that didn't work, but the one thing you guys have not yet realized is that none of the experts have used the hydrolic variety because they have a tremendous learning curve that does not exist with the solid variety-the upgrade path transfers from every other solid lifter car!. The muddy water here is a lack of experience with hydrolic hardware, not shortcomings with the hydrolic head-it flows exactly the same volume of air as the P90, and generates far less noise and friction to do it, these are facts-that is why Nissan developed the head in the first place. The only things you have proven here is that this try didn't work-and that anybody can use the same justification that was used for swapping SUs for a 4 Barrel kit when frustration sets in. The facts still remain that the P90A flows exactly the same as the P90 with a much lower loss to friction. That being said. The upgraded cam profiles can be the same for the P90 and P90A, and even upgraded, they will still flow the same with the P90A losing less power to friction-but the way you treat the oil flow and pressure changes MUST be different. Bring all of the variables together for a real comparason, or just say, "It was more trouble than I wanted to deal with", not that "P90A head is great for low output, quiet engines," because you have only proved that using it for a high output engine was beyond your committment to making it happen by applying solid lifter technology. Most people, including you guys, want the simplest answer. In this case it is do what everyone else has done and avoid the frustration of being the first to do something-that isn't wrong, or a bad answer, it just isn't the only answer. How many tries does it take to get a spindle pin out? WIll

To all that knew James Burgess aka "ZmeFly"
Art shared verifiable facts. His post allowed some of our members to know that questioning another member is not a bad thing. Because of members like Art, we have a forum that deals with Z related experiences(Not to mention a great magazine!). While I agree that the buyer should beware, If my brother-in-law was going into a den of thieves(or a new statue of Rick suddenly appeared in his bedroom), but didn't recognize the danger, I would warn/educate him, If I saw any of you in the same situation, I would do the same. Thank You Art for your verifiable facts in both forums and every so often in my mailbox! Will

Series I metal fan - how bad is it really?
Grab it with one hand, give it a good orbital movement pivotal on the bearing. It you have ANY play, find a new one or start saving for a new radiator... Will
