What would you like to add to your S30?
What would you like to have for your S30? What accessoriy have you been lusting over or dreaming about that you would give your eye teeth for? It can be an imaginary or fantasy part, but if it isn't in the list you have to post about it with a complete rundown of what it is and what it does(no exerpts from the Boobs thread please! If you added the greatest thing since sliced bread, synthetic oil, forced induction, or a shift boot made from a second-hand leather jacket, and it was better than you had hoped, tell us about that too!

What is the worst part of this club
Now if you had a Z, and not something made after '78... Seriously, some people look at Zxs as a rolling drive line swap, some people look at them as a relic from the Disco era, I look at them as the only newer Z to share styling cues and parts with the S30. They are different cars, but close enough to know they are related. If somehow my nose appears up in the air over your ZX, it certianly shouldn't appear that way, The only running Z I have at the moment is an "82 ZX, it has Eibach springs, Koni Shocks, New leather on the seats, New carpet, a new sterio, and Magnecore wires-all I sprung for! Not what you do to a car you consider inferior. BTW, Have you got an '83 FSM? WIll

Making Mp3 **** for car stereo
Some people enjoy the privacy of an Ipod, and don't notice the shortcommings in fidelity-they can tune out the world and having to interact with it(unless by accident). I guess control and fear both are addictive, look at roller coasters and fence sales...(just to be obtuse:stupid: ). If I want to listen I want to enjoy and not force my brain to overlook what is missing or stunted. Will

Making Mp3 **** for car stereo
I'm with you Mike, MP3s are fine for background, but when the fidelity of the music is important, they are just a dissappointment. Afaiac they are elevator and hard labor background music only. Will

Owners manual Scans
Thanks again Stephen! jim, I have one of the hoods, so measurements are not a problem. I am actually working on a different project, I am trying to get as many genuine nissan line art pictures of the '77/'78 hood as I can find. I am going to put together a document on the two factory hoods and the one Nissan Authorized add-in vent. I just want to have plenty of actual Nissan art to choose from when I put this together. TomoHawk, You have the size of the owners manual right, but I also asked for images from the '78 FSM. -I have a '77 FSM to take from. Will

Owners manual Scans
Thanks Stephen ,yes ,those will work. I was hoping there would be at least a part of a picture of the vented hood somewhere in the owners manual. Will

Did you know.......................?
We get a plate every so often, but a tag every year, but you can't get a tag without a plate. Even the state of Georgia calls it the tag office... Do you know that to put the competition parts quick steering knuckles on an early car, you have to swap to the larger ball joints? Will

Owners manual Scans

Making webpage for resto/paint issues
I traced the few rust problems I have had under POR to an application problem. Here in South Georgia(probably in most of FLA as well) the Humidity is normally above 97%, When I prepped for and applied POR 15 progressively as the day warmed up, I had issues, when I prepped and applied as the day cooled off, I had no issues. Condensation was forming from the warming air on the cooler metal-I could not see or feel it, but I have proof it was there. There is generally a 20 degree range of temperature during the day, I kept the car in a shut garage over night, and generally got started after 8am by opening the door. I kept the car in the garage(out of the sun and the breeze) and I noticed the car was cooler than the air as I worked on it. Even applying the treatments helped keep it cooler than the air from evaporation(Even at 97% humidity) . As long as the sheet metal was playing catchup temp wise, the potential for an issue was there. Por cures with moisture to an impermeable coating, Surface moisture left over from the curing process can't get out, and will rust until all of the moisture escapes by rusting through the steel, or it runs out in forming rust. With this knowledge, I either apply Por15 to a warmed part, or I apply it in the afternoon(assuming the sun has dropped and so has the ambient temperature. The issues have gone away. This would only be an issue when working with POR in high humidity areas with a decent temperature variation. I tested my theory by treating two pieces of sheetmetal, both preped outside, and treated with POR as the dawn came up the next morning. Both were stored inside under a running an airconditioner all night, stabilizing the temperature of both and lowering the humidity in the room. The one treated with POR inside got a beautiful glossy coat of POR, the one done outside minutes later with the same brush and the from the same sample of POR developed tiny bubbles almost immediately upon application, indicating a severe moisture issue-even though no condensation was seen. The piece was allowed to reach outside ambient temperature with no enhancement(no additional air circualtion, no sunshine) for almost half an hour before applying the POR15, the sample of POR 15 was covered immediatley between applications.. Owners manual Scans
Has anyone got an OWNERS manual from a '77 or '78 280Z and/or an OWNERS Manual and/or FSM from an '83 280ZXT they could scan for me or loan me to scan? I do not need scans of the entire manual(s), only selected sections. From the '77/'78 I need any section that contains a picture of the vented hood, even if the text on the page does not mention the vented hood. From the '83 manuals, I need any section on the L28ET and especially the P90A head. I would scan them the night and /or next day, and have them sent right back priority mail in two days-obviously I would pay shipping both ways, and make allowances for the trouble. Thanks, I will also be at Zfest in Orlando with a scanner and laptop (but no Z:( !), so I could scan them then and there under immediate adult supervision. Thanks, Will

Did you know.......................?
Not quite Paul, it is easier than that! No Z (or any other car for that matter) came from Nissan with a proper state automobile tag, A proper restoration, even if you consider it to be as delivered from a dealer, would not include having a tag on the car. You will not find a part number for any state tag in any parts manual ever made for any S30, and it is illegal to operate an automobile on a public road with out one(though most states do grant a grace period to allow an owner to get one)! The tag is normally the first (and sometimes the only) bolt on modification added by the first owner. Will
