  1. Your problem isn't oil related, you let the car see how much money was in your wallet...and It won't move until you spend most of it on something for the car. Will
  2. Home Depot and Lowes sell it(Ospho) with the chemicals on the paint aisle (clear or translucent bottle green or blue in color). Every autobody/paint store sells at least one version of it, or you can buy it from POR15.com(Metal Ready). WIll
  3. What is the best part of owning a classic Z? Is it the Babes, a spirited drive through the twisties, the stories you hear from the people that tell you "I used to have one and the stupidest thing I did was get rid of it" on almost every outing. Please share your thoughts...
  4. I found my posts, but no pics...I have a couple of the handles if a pic would help I can post one tomorrow Previous threads with out pictures: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11463&highlight=shifter+handle http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12813&highlight=280ZX+handle
  5. Ok I won a "74 260Z FSM on Ebay today, so the progress continues... WIll
  6. a 280ZX t handle fits, is mostly metal with a grip pad, and looks right at home! After my third New $85 Dealer replacement in six years cracked, I picked up the ZX piece in the pick and pull for $5 to try and sold the car with it eleven years later. The pad is removeable and did come in several colors. I think I put this info and some pics in a thread-I'll have a look and post a link if I find one. Will
  7. Nate, Sorry for the delay, The stuf I was testing did not work out-even with extended testing. If you really want a stop gap repair I would saturate the entire area in Metal Ready or Ospho or any of the Phosphoric acid rust eaters(even Naval Jelly-to keep close to the Coast Guard theme!)-especially the inside of the panel. Then I would tap in the area(dent the holes in) and use fiberglass to seal the area, and get the body work as close as you can without using conventional filler(bondo/bog) then cove it with a high build primer and color coat it. The Fiberglass will keep water from the metal, and be fairly easily removeable later on. By not using any bondo, you don't put anyhing in the area that will absorb and retain water to add to your issues. By using a Phosphoric acid to treat the rust from the indside, you will leave a Zinc Phosphate coating in an area that will be somewhat protected from contact, and the coating will help prevent new rust from forming in the area. Hopefully that will give you the temporary fix you asked for without getting to involved or adding too much to the mess to ultimately be cut out and replaced! Will

17...he should have every episode memorized by now and be able to quote them while removing spindle pins in the rain amidst an invasion of Cane toads! I guess I did get a little carried away(or maybe I should have been...) E-quit giving away my methods! Not everyone can convice another member to keep a pair of fuzzy dice in acar just because they cleaned up after soaking up restoration dust!
  9. 5 posts 1 pic(a great pic-but still!)~! Will
  10. Welcome! Enjoy what we have, please post what you have that fits the decour, and jump in when you you can! Will
  11. Chris, Your being anal is what this site is all about! Somehow that does not sound as much like what I mean as it is....Hmmmm. The devil is in the details, and in this case he's hiding 'round the back! Will

It is called Zitus, There is no known cure, though working on a Z, buying more Zs, and dusting an occasional ricer have all been known to give temporary relief from the symptoms. The good news is this affliction is absolutely infectious. That is to say if you have a significant other, he she or it is more than likely also infected-so you will have twice the time, energy and money going into your Z soon! The only downside of Zitus is withdrawl when you cant see, touch, work on, spend money on, or drive your Z-or when this site goes down! A quick Z fix is to buy a club shirt or hat and keep it with you when you travel! A club CD can offer guidance when something needs to be ordered or put back together(the CD has parts numbers and exploded diagrams)-some members even use them as teddybears! Imagine how great Radars enlistment would have been if he had had one. No body making fun of the Teddy bear, wouldn't have had to mail a jeep home, chick all over him without lessons from Hawkeye... 13. lose thehat-trust me that'l help! Will
  14. WHhhoooohhahhahhahahha!! Bill, anybody with balls big enough to wear that hat-even on Halloween-deserves a break... ...or at least an obscene coat hanger! If it weren't for the babe on your arm in the photo(granted, it is an OLD photo) I would say the Z part made of the most unobtanium for you is a date! Will
  15. What are you saying Bill, it is hard to find breats and thights? Will
  16. They won't touch custom stuf-but it is in the works:love: !! Will
  17. Pictures? Pictures? Pictures? Will
  18. You guys beat me to it-I have several panels, something like four or five-each slightly different relative to the others-one of the things I had been getting ready for the parts variation thread...there is even a little variation between the original backlit '73 panel and what is available from the dealer today... Will
  19. Carl, Sorry I missed your post, The studbaker crowd has been using them for years-though they did not come from the (expletive deleted) that way! I have been getting a turbo news letter, 21st Centuray Turbos for years(it had been around far longer than I have been a subscriber), and it started out for the Studebaker crowd(I absolutley agree with you on the Avanti!). Interestingly, it is also available in book form published by a gentleman named **** Datson from Sarasota, FL. http://www.gatorsuperchargers.net/books/books.htm ). Will
  20. These are overlays for the gage faces, though I am going to do a little more than that(Hence the duplication reference in my previous post) Will
  21. Studebakers used a through the turbo setup...nothing new there, but that type of setup means seriously keeping up with your state of tune! If it is complete and in useable good shape as it sits, $300 is a good price. Will

Welcome! Congratulations! I bet the Thick and thin" contains some great stories! Will
  23. Ordered and then some! I had a good chat with them before ordering. If everything I planned works out, I'll post a technical article showing how to duplicate it... Will
  24. Because the matching part does not exist! I have four or five threads and countless hours going round and round with Nissan parts depots throughout the world to find out Nissan never made a true "mirror image" of our DS mirror-That is why I have made and cast my own base, and cut my own convex glass to fit the head! I will have several complete true PS assys with me at Daytona-they are not OEM but the only way you will know that is from my telling you-or a complete and exhaustive search through all of the parts books(domestic and otherwise) and talking to anybody in Nissan who would reply-I have been there and done that, no need to duplicate my efforts! I have four spoken for and will be bringing how ever many more I can get made(cutting and fitting the glass takes time) between the time I finish my car and I get to Daytona... Will
