Parts Needed
Those ZX parts are still available from Nissan, and they are generally cheeper than ordering from any other source because of the shipping charges. go in and talk to the parts manager- if you order all three at the same time, he (she) will probably give you a discount(the volume helps the dealership ranking), and best of all no shipping charges! Best way to spend $500
My first reply would be a complete tune-up, NGK plugs, Magnacore wires, adjust the valves, new ign. parts, adjusted timing, new filters, fluids, and check the tire pressure-a tank full of premium, and you are there! $500 goes pretty fast by its self... Or-depending on your current state of tune, a combination of some of the above and A better exhaust, hot ignition(pertronix), etc... Will

Vinyl letter "Z"
Check google, I am pricing some "involved" graphics for my trailer, and your pricing sounds pretty high for something so simple...If you are going to use the "Z" script from an emblem, just scan it, clean it up if necessary, and download a rashter to vector converter, that will convert the image to a mathematical formula so it can be resized as you see fit with no loss of resolution. Most Sign cutters who know what they are doing can convert almost any file type to what is native(or useable) in their software. Will

seriously Big problem, please anyone help me
Find a local Z fanatic and invite him or her for a beer/dinner, let that person show you what is what, and give you some advice on where to go and what to do. Reread Carls' post and realize he has passed you a great deal of wisdom in his words. You need to get a factory service manual to know what you are looking at-the N42 is the cyl head, not the engine block. If you block is still the right color, it will be painted blue(though it may be dirty) and the cyl head will be aluminum. Will

What is this? A 3 part question
Your sender has been modified-there should have been a plastic caniser type filter about 2"x2" on the end-it clips into the two slots on the disk in your second picture-I have one somewhere, and will try to post a pic when the young one hits the hay. You would be ahead of the game to replace the original filter. The tank could use draining and rinsing with a mix of gas/carbcleaner, but I wouldn't say it would be worth dropping it. Pour the cleaner mix through a filter, and run it back in the tank with several more gallons of gas. The sender will clean up well with a can of carb cleaner and a tooth brush/shop rag. Will

Aftermarket t-tops
ZX t-top roofs have been grafter on before. it just takes time, tools energy, or money... Will

What is this? A 3 part question
The first time I did it, it took about an hour and a half-with most of that going to draining, cleaning, and getting off hoses with no damage. But the sender has a large filter element on it-unless the tank is chock full of junk, you probably don't need to pull it. When you take out the sending unit, you will be able to look into the tank and see what is necessary-again, you do not need to drop the tank to pull the sender!!! Will

What is this? A 3 part question
The noise you hear is probably from junk in the fuel line being brought to the fuel pump. Drain the suction line and remove and clean(use carb cleaner) the sender(at the top of the tank(under the round plate in the middle of the rear deck-you do not need to drop the tank to do this). Will In looking at your pictures-is the fuel pump supported by its hoses, or clamped around its body?

What is this? A 3 part question
1) first picture is an access to the fastener in the hole that the foam is stuck to-I believe the piece is a weight for dampening the rear suspension. 2) that is an aftermarket fuel pump-probably a generic walbro. 3) What is missing is the mounting and insulation(vibration) for the original pump. To Tint or not to tint...
Maybe what they know is that most of those $100k 67ish cars will see less than 100 miles a year under their own power and less than a week total in the sunshine...why tint the windows when your enjoyment comes from occasionally rubbing the car with a diaper in the garage and not tooling down the road with UV streaming through the windows. Don't forget the Barret Jackson list is not about cars or enjoying cars, it is about selling cars. Will

- Dashboard restorations
There is a great deal of detail in the archives on the differences between the restorations done in Australia, and those done in Washington-I have pictures of the quality from Washington in my gallery-good, but not carefully done(grit and foriegn material under the covering material. For the $, I should have been hard pressed to find anything lacking. I wasn't. The covering looks good, it was the preparation that was lacking-check my gallery. One of our members has a great deal of personal first-hand knowledge of the situation-and he has also placed it for posterity in the archives. If I had another one to do, it would be exported. WIll- Get it before it goes on Ebay
I pm'd you right after you posted this-Interest in any/all of the JDM parts(other than fender mirrors) Will- Automatic Transmission
TomoHawk, I am still working on the chassis/bodywork, and roughing in the engine swap in another car-and fighting with life for landing rights! I have not entirely made up my mind about what tranny to use-someof the info from Beandip has made the choices a little more dear. Untill I hear from Jatco about other AODs that are direct bolt ups to the L-series bellhousing(if they choose to return my communications), I will wait until the tranny is needed to put the car underway to buy one. I am probably going to put in a 4spd manual(Just completely cleaned, R&R'd everything-it looks better than new!) to begin with and use my roughing in car to be certian that everything comes in and out where it is supposed to before putting it into the refinished car. I am almost considering checking into what it would take to make a 700r4 bolt up-after I drain the pond, shoot the alligators, and get the car on the road... Will- Help Please
The proof is in the Pics-must have been an option. I know I have seen the parts available in unfinished fiberglass from at least 2 vendors. Will- Help Please
I think they may have ben added to a few scarabs by their owners, but I don't believe Scarab made them a part of their normal conversion. Mike has a good collection of Scarab info here: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16853&highlight=scarab I saw both for sale years ago-I will have to go through my aftermarket books... Will- new paint sceme pics
Welcome! Post some "before", "in progress" and "after" pictures!!! Will - Dashboard restorations
