  1. Only get NGK plugs, accept no substitutes! Bpr6es if memory serves. Do not use platinum, splitfire, or any of the other reccommended "upgrades" if you want the car to run right. Spending money on these special plugs is wasted on the Z. Standard NGKs are what the car was designed to use-anything else is just wasteful. Will
  2. One thing about money orders(other than USPS)-if you can't and dont cash it where it was bought, it can be refused! The only place that has to cash a Western Union money order is the main office of western Union. Except for USPS money orders, they are acutally worse than a check(every branch of a bank a check is drawn on is required to cash it as long as the money is there and the check is valid) Once again, no branch of western union except the home office is required to cash a western union money order-others are the same. Look at the back of the Money order in the FINE PRINT! Will
  3. My consergns would be: 2+2, After market Gnose Kit, upholstery, and steeringwheel, How to be sure nothing serious is missing-no 100% certian way to replace JDM specific parts. The 15 year break in the restoration-what will need to be redone from age... I would go take a look and see what was not listed, take an inventory, and be sure nothing serious was missing or damaged or in need of being redone. It is probably worth more, but the starting bid will give many bidders sticker shock-even though they would bid above that in a bidding war. Will
  4. What are the most impressive modifications to see on a Z? Post your thoughts...and pics if you have them... Will
  5. I noticed the chopped wheelwells too, My thought was that the body was not made to be pulled from a mold-probably made in place. The rectangular section to fill in at the ends of the cowl truely give it away. I kit would have those molded in... Will
  6. Alissa, Don't worry, John has a wife, and I'll email her a copy of his post- btw in his gallery in a pick of HIS new car with its most frequent driver... Sorry John...:stupid: WIll
  7. Welcome, WIth your back ground, you may not have much to say, but you have a lot to show! Welcome! Will
  8. 14" 72 spoke reverse laced. I don't remember the widths on the top of my head, but I have some original Alpha1 literature, so I will find out...and post a pic or two... Will
  9. I don't know, but it is interesting that the extra width in the front was added between the headlight and the hood-probably is a one off ! With MONZA CORPORATION painted all over it, maybe they could help Will
  10. For those of you who had no clue what Victor was talking about-like I didn't, NFIBMT stands for No Frills Iron Bottom Motoring Tour. It is a bunch of car Nuts with pre-'76 cars running an extended route together-the only thing provided and organized about the whole thing is the route and getting the word out! It sounds like a great deal of fun for those who are close enough to participate. I think Georgia is a little too far off their path...but since Victor posted about it, you can bet it is a blast! Will
  11. Yes, that is sort of true-except, all of the needed parts are available in one stop shopping-the honda you pulled the motor out of... A few minutes of wire tracking and hacking, and all the necessary parts are collected. Any time I collect upgrade electrical parts, I alway pull the connectors-and usually the whole sub harness-that way I have the system as it was designed, and not stick a part in that happens to fit the space but not the system. Will
  12. It will go out USPS priority mail today! WIll

  14. E, You have spent too much time looking at Ms. MoonROFL! Reread post #7 you Mr. Moon wannabee! WIll
  15. Buy the club cd, it is an excellent resource, it is inexpensive, and it heps to provide support to this club-not to mention-no ISP required! Will
  16. You have a short term solution I guess, but you have put it in a place most would forget about and then it would become a long term problem. Metal to metal contact under pressure will not hold paint! the clips are spring loaded and add pressure, your feet will cause pressure, and then there is the fact that you really don't have a water proof seal, only metal tightly held to metal under felt-the ideal situation for capillary action! I don't want anything in my car that could and will invite rust! The rubber plugs fit the area of use as they are absolutley an "install and forget" part. Put one of the metal plugs in your shower for a week, and just leave it there where the water can hit it-you will have rust in a day or two...they are not plated for even a damp environment, and when you force them through a tight metal hole, the plating scrapes off-making them and the hole more suseptable to rust. You had a convenient and interesting idea for replacing something that really was engineered for the purpose it is used for, the metal plugs have an ideal use, and capping a hole in the floor of a Z aint it! There are places to go cheep in a Z, floor plugs ain't one of them. Find an easy replacement for the rubber bumper strips that do not oxidize and get thick oily black nastyness on everything they touch as they age...not to mention the rusting of the attatchment hardware....there is a problem begging for and answer... Will
  17. I am setting up the turbo situation as well, but my car will only see the track twice a year, so I am sticking with the lightest weight and more common parts-Though I am expecting more horsepower. I am not out to beat everone, just occasionally suprise a few...badly. WIll
  18. I have black panels from both locations that have the perforations-but then who is to say I didn't take them from different cars-I sure don't remember. WIll
  19. WHy not just get more of the rubber plugs? Will
  20. There is also prevision in the later S30s(I don't remember the years)for a speaker in each sidewall behind the front seats-look at the dogleg trim for perforations as you pictured Will
  21. Anatomy of a red dot-be forewarned, if you are squeemish or easily sickened by the boobs thread, do not open the attatched pictures...they are as explicit as you will probably ever see-of a red dot mirror from an early 240Z... No, I didn't brake the glass out, I am hoping to replace it, and I will write a technical article if I am successful-I think the most difficult part is behind me! I didn't picture the other pieces, they were out of focus. I'll add them later. Will PS, Thanks Mark!!!
  22. I've been using Silicone blades since they came out-they absolutley do not weater, and will not scratch or haze a windshield no matter how much grit, sand, or glass polishing compound is on it. The are garanteed for the life of the car as well. Will
  23. If you are having trouble, I will round up my camera and post a few pictures to help. Will
