  1. I bought about 10 sets in stainless to get past the minimum order charge, the length all works at the same, the holes are all threaded beyond what is needed. I'll go back through my notes and get you a price=easily mailed in an envelope... I have been working on a weay to get the remnants of the screw out... Will

In a word, NO! Will PS you forgot 4 4. Development costs not combined with an existing platform...thanks Carlos...

Good answer, but you need to get together with another Ron...not to be rude, but NOT! Will
  8. Eric, I have a set of installation instructions for the version of the kit you have(exhaust adaptor), but the set I pulled of this car actually has a cast exhaust manifold. Here are a few pics showing the manifold(KDMatt. note the port shape), and the wastegate. I'll clean everything up in the next few days and picture it side by side with the factory(and some upgraded) pieces from and '83. Will One further note, this car did have an oil accumulator that drained through the turbo on shut down-but the turbo won't spin...not a good testimonial to this type of oiling system...I have a Oregon Research Technology (not gone) system that interrupts the ignition circuit and pumps oil for ten seconds before allowing the car to start and again for five minutes after shutdown.

When was the term "350Z" first applied nationally to a Nissan? Extra Credit! What company did it? Why? Will

Alan, I realized the folly of my reading in, and edited my post. MY apologies, my fingers typeth over in a misguided attempt to be a wee bit funny. I revisited the parts books (JDM and USA/Canada, and saw that I am glad a 432 is different, it should be, and yes, I would trade my eyeteeth for one, but not my 240Z! I picked Elizabeth Hurley( she was the first decidedly English movie star I could come up with-though I have only seen her in Bedazzled, Passenger 57, and Austin Powers) over Shirley Stelfox and Mary Millar because she was far prettier to me-but still had "Rose" :cheeky: quality of Hyacinths sister-Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink, Know what I mean, Know what I mean! I'm just thankful we got the 240Z! Though being given the opportunity for both would have been great too! Will

Just goes to back up my thought that the rest of the world had their Z experience financed by the enthusiasts here in the USA-you guys got all the goodies and options and we got the actual base model...spread the development cost to the world, but keep the toys for the chosen ones... Will
  14. The Bae stuff probably will get cleaned up, polished, and have some pieces(Spelled turbo) upgraded and put on my '72 for Daytona...after I compare it side by side with the Fac+ory pieces... Will
  15. While the car is very pretty, and evidenlty it has 4000 miles of history on the system... The wiring is obviously not finished, only lone wires run(not routed) across the manifolds with a few taped into a bundle, but no harness is established. Leads me to believe there are other things that are not quite detailed out...The wires should be run in a consistant order and wrapped into a single identifiable harness or several sub harnesses. Calling a gloss black painted factory fuel rail a "High Flow Fuel Rail" doesn't give me warm fuzzies about the rest of the blurb. In addition stating that "this car can be user-tuned to any desired horsepower from a laptop" (anyone here not want more than 230hp if it was available with only tuning) makes absolutely no sence, I doubt seriously that it can be set too much above where they set it and not kill the engine(why wouldn't you tune in all you could get relieably to make it more saleable(the answer is you would!)). Lots of very good and expensive equipment and tuning to make something that could be reproduced for less money using less expensive parts. Spending that much money for that lite of a tune just does not make any sence. I quess this could be the difference between a timex and a rolex (If the details were absolutely perfect-but they aren't) A great deal less hardware and expense can get you above that performance level, and considering you will have to upgrade the turbo, the fuel rail, and several other pieces(no mention made of the exhaust plumbing) to improve on what is there, why not spend the money in the right place the first time? Having said all of that, the car is very nice looking, it has some expensive pieces in it, and evidently a good deal of expensive labor, and some nicely done areas, but it does not appear to have an upgrade path with its existing mechanicals-though the electronics probobly would handle pretty much anything that could be put in. If you want great quality parts, this car has it, if you want dyno and speed slip results, you could spend less money and beat it as it sits every time... Will
  16. ...but live ones, not pictures!
  17. TomoHawk, Display what ever you are proud of, but verify whether or not it will be allowed in the car if you are having the car judged. For ZCCA events, only the Owners manual is allowed in the glove box. and all other displayed materials are to be on a display board... Will
  18. ZBane and I tore the red one at the start of this thread up last Thursday afternoon/evening. The BAE kit was complete and other than a coked turbo(I'll soak it to free the bearings to see how bad they really are) and a dirty oil film, in excellent shape! I'll be posting pictures of a (expletive deleted) turbo setup and this one from BAE side by side part for part soemtime next week... Will I forgot to mention this kit had some additional parts, a Webber Big Throat Throttle body, and a couple of gages-we pulled everything except the gages... And this kit is a little different from the BAE Installation instructions I have-this one came with a cast BAE exhaust manifold, and not an adaptor plate as presented in my instructions, and the fuel inrichment was handled differently as well. The engine was painted red and had dished pistons as well.
  19. Thanks Jeff, I'll post some pics of this attempt when I get the pieces back, and hopefully between your attempt and mine something will be right! Will PS, have you got a phone number for that plater-I'll probably send them a couple of covers too, just to see which is the closest... Thanks, WIll

  21. Hopefully I will have some good news to give those of you with scratched ashtray slides very soon! A while back I sent two more off for refinishing, and after a couple of conversations with the plater they should be coming back to me soon! I'll post pictures of, and a commentary about the results. Will
  22. OK, I dropped the clock and osc. off about 11am Thursday, and spent a little over an hour talking to the guy. The single knob rally clock he had was a Datsun branded part, but NOT FROM A Z!!! It was smaller and in a chromed housing and it was owned by the shop! I assume it was from either a Roadster or a 510. I didn't have my camera(like a blooming idiot), but I will get pictures of it the next time I visit the shop. The gentleman was somewhat certian he could get a quartz movement in the Z clock, but the guy I spent time with was the mechanical genius of the shop, and he wanted to let the electronic genius have a go at it to see about repairing the original mechanism to get an actual frequency from the system. I told him that was fine, but we would still want a quartz based solution as well-being that the primary part of the oscillator was NLA, and evidently the weak link. I also asked about some of the other technology that they put to use, and got a very good feeling about their willingness to help find solutions to other much less important Z issues. I agreed to leave the clock for a couple of weeks, to get it in their que, and got a detailed reciept for the clock and oscillator. I expect they will call when they come up with a direction...and I will pass on all of the progress/brick walls. Will

I picked up a complete BAE turbo kit after dropping of the Rally Clock, I spent the latter part of the day-and more of the night stripping a ZX with Zbane. I'll be adding pictures when I can get the (expletive deleted) parts to pair up to show the differences part for part. Will
  24. Ron, Thanks for finding this thread, I wrote Dan a Personal thankyou and a congratulations for an indistinguishable from original set of labels, but couldn't find this thread to post it as well. If you are riding the fence on wheter to order these, jump off, the water is perfect and the labels are too, they look terrific-you will be amazed! Dan has done an outstanding job tuning these into the perfection they are! These rate right up there with MikeWs glove box reproduction, and the quality of Daves headlight harness! Will
