  1. I got your sarcasm... and enjoyed it. I should have assumed the poke!
  2. I don't think the reference was to "California Datsun"... more that it was a California model Datsun series one
  3. You can borrow my winter Zled Jim...

I saw that. There was a distinct exhaust image around 5 & 6 that were mounted a little low perhaps (the exhaust image was sitting a quarter of an inch higher than the opening). I should be able to spend a little time getting them lined up higher at the back end. The cut doesn't concern me as long as it lines up and seals properly. Looking forward to hearing this beast in a year or two... ?

Do you have a sound clip of the engine running with this exhaust?

I don’t think I’ll re-wrap the headers. Two very different camps on this I know, but I’m okay with the bare look.

Thought I’d tackle the exhaust system tonight. I bought the Eastwood internal header coating and some 2000 degree header paint. Sandblasted the header and sprayed it down with the outer coating, then sprayed down the insides with the Eastwood product. Hung it up to bake and cure a bit. Otherwise it stays soft and scratches. This should make it last a while in the shop till I can mount it.
  9. You will have no problem with the Zedd Findings floor pans for the 240. The Tabco panels are always a bit of a hit or miss. They will work though.
  10. Floors: Zedd Findings (best product) but the 280Z pans are not correct for the driver side. Dog leg and hatch patch panel: Tabco but they will need some work to fit.
  11. Which pieces? Some are available from smaller manufacturers like Zedd Findings. All of them require massaging to fit your specific car. A good set of body work hammers and dollies is always your best friend.
  12. My thread has a whole section on doing floor pans... butt welds and Fiberglas sealing too 1976 280Z Restoration Project https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_fid=83168&share_tid=50908&share_pid=489753&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eclassiczcars%2Ecom%2Findex%2Ephp%3F%2Ftopic%2F50908-1976-280Z-Restoration-Project%2Fpage__view__findpost__p__489753&share_type=t

  17. Watch Jeff’s videos from the thread Home Built by Jeff. He has a series at the end of the thread on how to paint in stages.

  19. I agree with granny. Sealer with epoxy prevents any off gassing or reaction between the paint and filler etc. Safest bet. Looks good so far!

The scary thing is, I only bought less than 1% of what lies in the subterranean vaults of the Zkars emporium of fine automobile components. Jim could build another 6 Z cars out of the bins in his archives. Behold the truth my brethren. If it’s parts you need, Jim’s the man in deed.
