  1. Removed a D612-52 from a 4/70 and found only one spring, not too many early units fall into my hands, so I'm not clear if they were to have one spring or two at this point. I believe someone else had been in there prior to me as you can see the cam took a hit where they just slightly closed the slot prior to the weights normal max swing.

  7. I see you retained the original sound deadening around the transmission hump, are you planning to remove this or just keep it as its a rare rust area? Did you have any rust issues or worn out wire harness ties that run above and along the engine bay frame rails? If so, how did you repair/replace these? I know its not going to be seen or affect anything, but I see Silvermine sold you a pair of brake calipers with mismatching hardware, is this normal for them? You've accomplished a great deal in a short time, keep the updates coming!
  8. Oh, there she is. Thanks for the link. So I'm new to the tuning of Weber carbs, actually just bought a set of triple 40 dcoe with Cannon manifold. I just happened to catch a episode of Wheeler Dealers where they tuned a carb'd Lambo with this at idle to match airflow: Air Flow Meter Synchrometer - Dune Buggy Parts, Sandrail Parts, VW Parts - MooreParts.com Has anyone used this unit or similar?

  10. For a stock '78 280Z 2+2 I'm looking for the approximate length of the front/rear compressed strut/spring combo under normal static load from the top of the upper strut mount to the weld on the lowest portion of the strut where it meets the knuckle. Does anyone have this measurement?
  11. Picked up some vintage wheels for cruising, the only info I have is they say PRO WHEEL on the inside and they are stamped 14x7, no center caps included. Maybe a Cragar, Centerline...any guesses? I measured offset to be a +6, going to fit them up and see what tire size I can get away with. Seller said they came off a 240Z, as the 2+2 is a bit wider in the rear compared to a coupe, I may not see any potential rubbing issues on the fenders or struts...have to measure and go from there. If they fit, I'll be polishing them to a shine!
  12. I'm all for the concept, just not crafty enough with the sheet metal. It would be a great project idea for one of the cable show restoration programs to pull off.
  13. Thanks, my passion is installing old school car audio, I picked a 2+2 for that reason. The rear seats will be removed and in its place will be a nice integrated amp rack. Spare tire well will hold the suwoofer in a fiberglass enclosure.
  14. That's my plan, I'm looking forward to the basic maintenance and driving through October.
