260z round top conversion: a couple questions
Is this the pipe @Zup? Not sure about my position for the pic but I'm pretty sure this is the one off my '72. I deleted the coolant flow through mine so I would be willing to provide this to a good cause. I.E, if it will be used? Cliff Okay, walked my lazy arse downstairs and it is the pipe off a '72.

New project
I'm checking FB's marketplace everyday. I want a Yamaha RD400. My Dad had one when I was a kid and let me ride it. He had to hold it up to leave out and on return I blew the horn and rode around the yard until he came out to hold it up while I was climbing off. 2 stroke street bike. Kenny Roberts raced them for years, they have a replica of it.

Mystery Part
It appears to not have any bolt holes for attaching it to a Z or any other car for that matter. I think your kid is messin' with you too.

Engine Rebuild
I rebuilt a '77 about 8 years ago. The Tom Monroe book AK260 mentioned is the first money you should spend in my opinion. Read it a couple of times then start the work. Bag and tag is the next best advice. I can add my experience with that too, write the description on a piece of paper and put it inside the bag. A sharpie on the outside will smear and rub off after being handled a few times. Buy a gallon of lacquer thinner for cleaning and soaking parts as you remove them. A couple of 5 gallon buckets with the lids will be useful too. Brass wire "toothbrushes" work great with the thinner. I could go on and on but like Grannyknot says "you found the right place". There's always someone on here to answer any questions or offer advice from experience. Here's a couple of the most helpful things I've read on the internet. The tech tips from 240260280 is a money saver. He also has a '77 so it'll be extra nice. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/ https://www.datsunzgarage.us/ Oh yeah! The forum has a lot of info too. https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/forum/184-build-threads/

Carbs not getting vacuum
Here's my favorite quick way to check the fuel level in the float bowls. I think that's 5/16 clear hose? I buy it at Lowes. 3/16" not 5/16. Sorry!

Carbs not getting vacuum
When you pull the choke handle do the nozzles drop down? Those hoses from the float bowls to the nozzles seem to stick outward more than mine. Could they be pinched somehow?

rear main seal brand
From all I read before rebuilding my motor, there's a lot of build threads on here too , it was suggested to buy as much Nissan as possible. I've built 2 and have zero leaks. The side seals are tricky to install the right way. They have grooves on one side and an angle on one end. Once you get that figured out my best advice was from @Diseazd about inserting them with the cap half way down. It's a lot easier that way and when you get them set tighten the cap down snip the excess off and use some black oil resistant RTV on top of the cap when putting the pan on. I couldn't find anything right off but here's the threads I read. Good luck, take your time and you'll be fine, no leaks. https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1BOFA_enUS494US494&ei=PRhVX7H0N8aW5gKuj6qICw&q=rear+main+seal+install+classiczcars.com&oq=rear+main+seal+install+classiczcars.com&gs_lcp=CgZwc3ktYWIQAzIFCAAQzQIyBQgAEM0CUMQ-WO59YIWYAWgAcAB4AIAB7gGIAdkQkgEGMTQuNi4xmAEAoAEBqgEHZ3dzLXdpesABAQ&sclient=psy-ab&ved=0ahUKEwjxhpuJg9XrAhVGi1kKHa6HCrEQ4dUDCA0&uact=5

I used Nissan. Get the part number and your local dealership can get one overnight usually. Mine did. Or buy online from Courtesy Nissan. Oh yeah, you'll need the 2 side seals also. Again, Nissan has those as well.

COVID-19
Common sense is beginning to squeeze in thankfully. Fear the truth isn't working in Alabama, that's bad because "we're" scared of you Yankees. I need to apologize for my bad choice of a word. I love all you guys no matter where you live. The man that lives in the WH is from Queens and he's a scaremonger. He's not scaring anybody I know. I'm sorry, but I'm pissed.

Nice tires and oil filter. You will spend some "dough-ray-mi" but will be worth it in the end. Love all the documents you have. Thanks for sharing them.

Help finding a 240Z Electric Fuel Pump bracket
Here's a good write up on installing an electric pump. http://jarvas240z.blogspot.com/2013/01/electric-fuel-pump-installation.html The one he uses comes with the mount.

240z (barely) runs very unevenly!
What type stuff was inside the float chamber? I've cleaned two gas tanks so far, my 240 was the worst by far. That's not rust either, just crud. I don't know your story but if you cranked it over when you first bought it like I did that stuff gets all in your fuel system.

Try pushing a WD-40 straw down the overflow bung to see if the float is stuck. You should be able to push down then see the straw rise back up slowly. The fuel valve could be stuck open letting fuel continuously flow through. Good luck!

1977 280z - weatherstrip kit
The Kia Sportage seals are well spoken of from all I've read. I got lucky and bought one of the last complete seal kits from MSA. They worked perfect, at least the half of the kit I've installed so far. A few fumes are intoxicating to me, not liked so much by the dog that rides with me. He sleeps very well which scares me.

Which Header?
I've been told that recently, sorry to say. No low end torque. They're beatiful though. Zcardepot had some allen headed exhaust studs and I'm sure others do too.
