  1. Hey there, Vicki and Jeff, Looking for somewhere safe to relocate to huh ???????? Come to Queensland in the good old Land of Oz mates. Don't forget to bring your Zeds. I haven't seen one that's been built with the steering wheel and pedals on the wrong side. :stupid: Seriously people, I've got my fingers crossed for you. Rick.
  2. Tom, I copied it off his business card mate. Try going through his web site. He was having trouble with his computer about 12 months ago. Could be he's got the gremlins back again. Rick.
  3. 280Z Mate, as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for". If you decide to have the dash restored, make ABSOLUTELY certain that the company you choose is a REPUTABLE one. Might cost a little more but worth it in the long run. I was lucky. The P.O. had the dash redone. Looks good too. Rick.

I don't BELIEVE IT !!!!!!!! You blokes have been talking about some terrific groups and solo artists BUT when you're talking about artists of the late 60's and 70's, you've left out some very obvious, high profile performers, namely; Elvis, Gene Pitney, Roy Orbison and B.J. Thomas to name a few. Oh, shame, shame, SHAME be upon you for leaving The King himself off your list. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  5. Good Grief, The news on T.V. said that there's an even bigger bugger of a hurracane bearing down on you lot. Hope everything goes O.K. for you. Rick.
  6. Took a while to find the thread. It's in Open Discussions under "Not Armour All". Enjoy. Rick.
  7. It took awhile but I finally found it. The post I referred to was written by a member that I have a lot of respect for, so I'm inclined to take his word for it. Rick.
  8. G'Day Carl, Regarding Armour All, the auto trimmer who recovered the seats in my car warned me most emphaticly against using the product. It's not USING the product that causes the trouble, it's when you STOP using it. That was around twelve months ago. I mentioned his warning on this site and received numerous replies agreeing with my statement. One such reply was from a member, (can't remember who it was), who reported the results of tests made by a company he worked for, (I think), which confirmed that problems arose when the product was no longer used. I'll do some back tracking and see if I can dig up the thread. I'll let you know. Rick.
  9. We'll be thinking of you mate. Rick.
  10. Yair Joseph, Doesn't surprise me at all. Rick.
  11. Hey there Trojan, I sure hope you don't have the same nasty little surprise I had when the windscreen came out to fit new hood lining. RUST all along the top. So bad, had to have it cut out and new metal welded in. Fingers crossed for you, Rick.
  12. G'Day Marc, Carl has given you the best advice mate. I'm interested to know whether Armour All has been used on the dash in the past. I've heard some rather disturbing reports on what happens after someone stops using the product. Rick.
  13. According to my handy little yank book, Fast Fixes and Simple Solutions, squirt a few drops of shampoo onto a rag, wipe the windscreen and the fog will clear up. Rick.
  14. Yair Tom, Once again I agree with Joseph. I have sourced several items from the local dealer. I was even told that they could supply the rubber strips for the bumpers. Price was pretty steep though. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Warren's price was cheaper than Nissan's. Rick.

The previous owner of "Precious" told me that, after they had owned the car for about two years, they were barrelling around a bend and came face to face with a bull. They hit the skids but were still travelling at a fair clip when they hit the bull. Aparently it went clear over the top of the car. They reckon that the bull picked itself up and shambled off. The pointy end of the car was only slightly damaged, there was a ding in the bonnet but the car was driveable. They said the worst part of the confrontation was the fact that the car was covered with bull crap from the pointy end to the blunt end. Rick.
  16. Chad, Go into "Members List", click on "T", got to about page 7 or 8 and you'll find reference to TKR514. You can PM him from there. Hope everything's O.K. Rick.
  17. Mate, as Joseph said, Try Warren at All Z Parts. Web: www.allzparts.com.au Email: allzparts@aol.com.au I live at Yeppoon, on the coast about 45 klms. out of Rockhampton, C.Q. I've dealt with Warren for just on three years now and, while he tends to be a little slow at times, has so far been reliable and reasonably priced. I can't say the same for others I've dealt with closer to home. I'm sure that he would be able to help. He REALLY knows Zeds. Tell him I sent you. You won't get any special treatment from him but I might next time I place an order Rick.
  18. G'Day there Gavin, Cleaning up old lenses huh ???? Well, now, I don't know if it would work or not but a very fine abrasive might do the trick and the finest abrasive I know of, believe it or not, is, TOOTHPASTE. (You might need to use a lot of it). If you do try it, let me know huh ?????? Rick.
  19. Whilst reading through my book of handy hints, I came accross an item that might be of interest to you lot up there. I quote; Fix your car for free. Don't just shell out money to get your car fixed. Thanks to secret warranties nobody's telling you about, you might be entitled to free auto repairs. Here's how it works. Secret warranties are a response to a common problem in particular vehicles. For example, maybe the brakes are shoddy or the paint peels in certain models. The manufacturer agrees to fix the problem for free--but doesn't tell the public. The auto makers profit from this strategy, because most times, the consumer gets stuck with the bill. Unless you play detective. At any time, there are at least 500 secret warranties out there. The tricky part is finding them. Because only four states have laws requiring auto makers to tell you about secret warranties, you usually have to uncover them on your own. Your best bet is to look for technical service bulletins (TSB's) that deal with the model and year of your vehicle. These documents from the manufacturer let dealers know about common problems with certain cars--and, sometimes, how to fix them. TSB's are available to the public. Just ask your dealer for copies. Other good sources of help include the Center for Auto Safety, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and the Federal Trade Commission. Also, keep your eyes open for stories in the media or trade magazines about automobile defects. Remember, these warranties are secret. So they're not going to be called "secret warranties". They might be called "goodwill adjustments" or something similar. But you can find enough evidence to show your dealer that you know a secret warranty exists. The key is to be well informed and persistent. End quote. Now, I have no way of knowing whether the above is correct or not BUT The book was written by yanks, edited by yanks, produced by yanks and published by yanks so it MUST be true and correct. At least when applied to the American car manufacturing industry. Seriously, I hope it IS correct and is of some help to some of you. Rick.
  20. G'Day Luke, Mate, I drive "Precious" two or three times a week. She might be a pretty little classic but, like any car, was never meant to sit in a garage for weeks on end, she was meant to be DRIVEN. That's why I have her on normal rego, not club rego. There are far too many restrictions with club rego. I want to be able to take her out for a spin any time I like. Rick.
  21. Bill, I can understand that you feel that you have to protect your Mum, (or any other woman for that matter), any bloke worthy of being called a Man would. Just make sure you do it L.E.G.A.L.L.Y. A hunk of 4 by 2 behind the ear might bring personal satisfaction but it would land you in more trouble than the low life is worth. Keep your cool mate. Rick.
  22. Bloody heck Bill, whatever you do mate, DON"T get into a fight with him. You did the right thing by not going out in the yard with him. I know it's hard, but sometimes it takes more courage NOT to fight. Rick.
  23. AHAAAAAAA, The Durango Kid Unplugged !!!!!!!!! Hey there Victor, Fortunately, "Precious" still has the original engine and gearbox (automatic). While she didn't win any prizes at the recent Rockhampton Motor Show I received some very favourable comments from the judges. Rick :devious: :devious:
  24. Ivmy 240z, It's blatantly obvious that you don't know what the inner suburbs of Sydney were like way back in the late 40's and 50's mate. Rick.
  25. Well, I'm happy to report that I have heard from That Aussie Guy. Apparently he's had a great promotion at his work which has been taking up a lot of his time, including night work. He assures me that he'll be back on deck as soon as things settle down. Rick.
